SEEING THE KINGDOM.

by ROBIN BOSCH

"Jesus answered and said unto him, Verily, verily, I say unto thee, Except a man be born again, he cannot see the kingdom of God."(John.3:3)

I always interpreted this scripture exclusively to the fact that if I was not born again I would not enter the Kingdom of God. Now this is true; but one day while reading this verse the Holy Spirit pointed out to me that it also means: I have to be born again to be able 'see' the Kingdom of God.

There is absolutely no way that the things of the Spirit can be understood and seen without my own spirit being enlightened by the Holy Spirit. The Door to the Kingdom of God is completely shut to those who are not inhabited by the Holy Spirit.

Without the Holy Spirit, the Bible is meaningless, the Cross is meaningless and the salvation message is meaningless.

I may read about it, others may tell me about it, preachers will preach to me about it, but it is only when the Holy Spirit enters my spirit that my stony heart becomes a heart of flesh.

Not being able to 'see' the Kingdom refers to my spiritual blindness. Something had to happen in order for me to see the Kingdom of God. That something is someone, and that Someone is Jesus. He had to enter my dark unregenerate spirit to awaken me to the things of God. He had to breathe life into me; His Life.

When that moment occurred, the Kingdom and its glory opened to me. The iron doors swung open - one, by one, by one. In the Spirit I hear the clunk, clatter and scrape of them opening; the rattling of chains being broken; golden keys unlocking and revealing Heavens mysteries.

A whole new world lay before me - unimaginable splendor; "The Kingdom of God." A spiritual dimension, beckoning and compelling, inhabited by the Father, the Son and the Holy Ghost - together with a hundred trillion angels and a cloud of witnesses; which are the souls of men who died in the Lord. Their praises echoing across the hills and valleys of heaven; for one soul reborn and transferred from the kingdom of darkness to the Kingdom Of Light; in one believing moment. (That soul was me.)

The Kingdom of God became a reality and I could see and understand. Hidden truths came to life. The pages of the Bible jumped out at me, feeding me with heavens Manna. Understanding Holy Writ for the first time, my mind was liberated to absorb the full beauty of the King of the Kingdom, Jesus the Messiah. Hallelujah!

Heaven became real; the Cross became real; Jesus' sacrifice became real and the Gospel came alive. A treasure trove of promises become my very own. The scales from my eyes fell off and I could with wide eyed awe, 'see the Kingdom.'

I was blind before my conversion. I never understood the Bible, I never understood the preacher and I certainly didn't understand people who tried to convince me. Everything was foolishness. Their words fell on deaf ears.

I can truly say the words of Jesus fitted my bill to a tee, when He said, "For this people's heart is waxed gross, and their ears are dull of hearing, and their eyes they have closed; lest at any time they should see with their eyes, and hear with their ears, and should understand with their heart, and should be converted, and I should heal them."Matt.13:15.

But like the continual and persistent flame of a blow torch, the Holy Spirit melted the steel bars of my heart and by His Grace, came to take up abode in my spirit. I now proclaim, "I am a new creation, old things have passed away, and all things have become new."

The Holy Spirit broke through the thick wall of unbelief that had dominated my life. The fire power of the Holy Spirit burnt away the shackles that held me captive. I stopped fighting, surrendered and believed the Gospel, the Good News of Jesus Christ.

I was able to SEE the Kingdom of God and entered in freely by His Grace, to heavens applause.
Amen.

I have been a believer in Christ for many years. It has only been in the last three or four years that I have received greater insight into the Grace of God. This has injected me with energy to tell others about the blessed "rest" we have in Christ. Grace is not a theology but is a Person-- Jesus.
