THE THREE ANGELS

THE THREE ANGELS MESSEGES
Revelation 14:6-12

We are now well into the last days of Earths history. It is therefore of the utmost importance that everyone who lives upon this planet should be aware that Jesus will shortly be returning to take back this Earth, which was usurped from Him by Satan over 6000 years ago. The everlasting gospel needs to be brought to the knowledge all mankind by whatever means available. As we all now have access to everyone on the globe through the World Wide Web, there is no excuse for not sharing the Word of God as He has given it to us. The Bible is Jesus last love letter calling us to Him so that we should not be in doubt about who is the Creator of the Universe we live in. The message of the Three Angels in Revelation 14:6-12 gives us a clear understanding of the everlasting gospel. We have a great burden to bring this message to all people and in particular to those in other churches. God knows who His children are. He has many people in every Church and there will probably be some atheists in there too. Of course when they get the message they won't be atheists anymore.

God's people are waiting for the light that He longs to shine in their minds, but He cannot force people to see. He must wait until the Holy Spirit enlightens their darkness.

As Christians who believe in the Word of God, we have been given a special gift to bring the light of the gospel to those who do not know God. We need to press forward with the gospel truth because their lives depend upon the light getting through. The message is a tough one and today millions are slipping further and further away from presenting the real gospel in favour of personal ecstasy and feeling the Spirit! Going to church once a week to hear a sermon, no matter how good we feel when we go home, does not make a person a Christian. Christianity is a living faith and should be practiced on a minute-by-minute basis. We can't all be missionaries in darkest Africa, but we can be a light of Christ in our own hometown.

A very gifted lady once wrote:

"In a special sense (in these last days), we have been set in the world as watchmen and light bearers. To them has been entrusted the last warning for a perishing world. On them is shining wonderful light from the word of God. They have been given a work of the most solemn import the proclamation of the first, second and third angels messages. There is no other work of so great an importance. They are to allow nothing else to absorb their attention." E.G.W. 9t (19) (1909). {lde 45.3}.

The first second and third angel's messages seem to be the hardest messages to give to the world and we seem to be afraid to speak of them. Why? It is probably because we do not wish to seek confrontation with anyone. We want to befriend and draw people to God, and that's okay, but we have been entrusted with a warning message.

Our work is to benefit our fellowmen. We are not to follow over the track of the opponents of truth, but to sound the message of the third angel who is flying in the midst of heaven proclaiming the note of warning, the Commandments of God and the Testimony of Jesus Christ {tm263.3}.

The First Angel (Rev 14:6.7)

Here we read that the angel had the everlasting gospel to preach to those who dwell on the Earth. Notice that this is to every nation, tribe, language and people. Saying with a loud voice:

"Fear God and give glory to Him, for the hour of his judgment has come, and worship Him who mad the heaven and the earth, the sea and the springs of water."

This message is not for one church it is for all mankind. It is to remind the human family that God is the Creator who will judge every person who has ever lived. Notices in the First Angels message the 4th or Sabbath Commandment is being brought into view. The 4th Commandment is God's seal (or mark) of ownership of everything both in this world and the universe. Evolutionists would have you believe there is no God and no final judgement. These people have been deluded by the lies of Satan.

The Second Angel. (Rev 14:8) The message of the second angel is the warning that Babylon is fallen (the word fallen is repeated twice for emphasis of the importance of the message). It says that the great city (Babylon) made all nations drink of the wine of the wrath of her fornication. Of course this does not refer to the Babylonian city of King Nebuchadnezzar, which had fallen centuries before. It is a reference to the practices within the Christian church that has a system, which encourages the worship of a human who is considered to be Christ on earth and practices rituals that have no bearing on salvation. This church enforced her rule upon kings and queens making them subject to her own Will. Those who accepted her authority followed her doctrines giving allegiance and stifling descent by force where necessary.

The Third Angel (Rev14:6-12). The third angel makes a loud proclamation. It is a solemn warning to everyone who chooses to follow the Babylonian church, which is referred to as a 'beast'.

"If anyone worships the beast and his image, and receives his mark on his forehead or on his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of His indignation. And he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the Lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever; and they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image, and whoever receives the mark of his name." Her is the patience of the saints, here are those who keep the commandments of God and the faith of Jesus."

How do we, as Bible believing Christians, go to the world and tell others that: "Babylon is fallen and has become the cage for every unclean bird?" What does it mean to those sincere Christians who have no idea of Bible prophecy for the last days? They are believers in God and in Jesus, but their knowledge of the prophecies are limited, or even misdirected by other interpreters of the sacred passages. We have to share this message of truth and help them to research Bible prophecy for themselves. We are messengers not enforcers of the Word of God.

Millions today are still worshiping in Babylon, that is Christian Churches that follow tradition rather than the doctrine of Christ. The Bible is clear; those in these churches will have to come out of them if they are to receive a place in the kingdom of God. The three angels messages are a difficult message to give. There will be a rejection by many who will say that those who promote these messages have a demon. They will look at their church and say:

"We are experiencing the outpouring of the Holy Spirit today and you are saying our churches have demons controlling us?

Do we therefore gloss over the message to make it more palatable? Are we to be afraid of those who will hate us for this message? Didn't God say to his prophets, "There are more with us than there are with him?" 2 Chro 3:27 A host of angels in fiery chariots will guard us as we take this message to the world. "Fear not, for I am with you." says the Lord of Hosts. Isa 43:5

The time is not far distant when the test will come to every soul. The mark of the beast will be forced upon us. Those who have, through their lives constantly given in to worldly pleasures and conformed to worldly customs, will find it much easier to accept rule of the beast in their lives. It will be easier than subjecting themselves to the wrath of the authorities or the insults of their neighbours. To capitulate conscience to the powers that will rule this world prior to Christ returning will seal the fate of those who choose to do so.

God's Law or Man's Rule?
The contest is between accepting the rule of men and God's Law. It will be during this time that the gold will be separated from the dross in the Church. Are we then to give up what we stand for because we no longer preach or teach the messages of the three angels? The message we take to the people must be with the same courage as John the Baptist did when he rebuked King Herod for his adultery. Throughout his life, which was in peril from every word that came from his lips, he did not cease to preach truth, even though his life finally ended tragically. He went to his grave knowing he had run the race and would receive his crown at the resurrection to eternal life. Shouldn't we be as brave in the face of adversity?

The World in Noah's Day.
The inhabitants of this world today are represented by the dwellers on the Earth at the time of the flood. The wickedness of the inhabitants of the old world is plainly stated:

"And God saw the wickedness of man was great upon the earth, and that every imagination of the thoughts of the heart was only evil continually." Gen 6:5

We can learn from Noah's experience how it will be for those living on the earth at Christ's second advent. People will be going about their daily business, even though the warning bell has been sounded. Noah preached for over 100 years but no one listened. They thought him an old fool. How much more will we be thought of as foolish who preach the soon coming of Jesus?

The Universe is Watching.

Those from un-fallen worlds are looking upon the controversy that is going on upon this earth. Those who stand for Christ cannot be united with any other organisation that will take their allegiance away for Christ. If we belong to any secret organisation we must sever our ties with it. Nothing must be done in secret. Our faith must be an open book for the world to see. The seal of God will not be placed upon anyone who maintains a secret connection after they have been given the light of His truth. Christ is not divided and Christians cannot serve both God and mammon.

The Lord says:

"come out from among them and be separateand touch not the unclean thing and I will receive you and be a Father to you and you shall be my sons and daughters, says the Lord God Almighty." (2 Cor 6:17,18)

Church Unity.
There is a loud call today for Church unity. Doctrine, they say is divisive, therefore we must put aside our difference and join together in love. How then can we heed the call above to be separate from the world?

So who then are these angels that blow the trumpets?

The Word for 'Angel' that is used in the Bible, comes from the Greek word 'Angelos,' which literally means 'messenger.' Therefore these angels are not literal angels flying through the air preaching the message. They represent God's people all over the world who are preaching the everlasting gospel of Christ.

Abel's Sacrifice.

In Gen 4:4, Abel brought the firstlings of the flock for sacrifice to God. We know that the lamb represented Jesus and pointed to his sacrifice on the cross. Rev 5:12 tells us that Jesus was 'the lamb slain from the foundation of the world.' By each sacrifice of a lamb from Abel and throughout the history of God's people until Christ was crucified, they proclaimed the everlasting gospel of Christ. It is therefore only through the sacrifice of Jesus, who gave up His life for us, that we can come to the Father. He tells us this himself in John 14:6.

The gospel message that was preached in Paul's day is the same everlasting gospel which the Jews did not comprehend and it is the same message that is to be preached before the second coming of Christ in our day. This is confirmed in Heb 4:2:

"For indeed the gospel was preached to us as well as to them (the Jews), but the word which they heard did not profit them, not being mixed with faith (that is in Jesus), in those who heard it.

So the message preached by the three angels is not a new message.

In Rev 14 verse 7 we read:

"Fear god and give glory to him, for the hour of his judgment has come"

What does 'the hour of his judgment has come mean?'

Jesus has now moved from the Holy place in the heavenly sanctuary, to the Most Holy place where he has now begun investigating the lives of all humans who have died professed faith in God. He is our advocate in heaven; pleading His sacrifice to the Father for everyone who professes Him as Lord.

We who are alive do not know when Jesus will finish judging the dead and start judging those left alive today. Consequently we are urged to give reverence to God, to worship him only because Christ has begun his investigative judgement. As we continue in verse 7 we can see that worship belongs to the creator. John informs us that the time of judgement takes place at the same time the everlasting gospel is preached on the earth. Now the 4th commandment comes into view worship Him who made the heaven, the earth and the sea and the fountains of water. Why do we remember the 7th day of creation and keep it holy? It is because this Commandment is the seal (or mark) of God's ownership of everything. Ex 8-11 and Deut 5:12-15. This is central to understanding who God is and who we are!

The greatest enemy a Bible believing Christian has today is not from fundamental Islam or any terrorist organisation. The Bible tells us that are enemies are within our own ranks i.e. those who profess Christ and claim to be His followers but deny His Spirit. Babylon is the fallen Church. In Rev 18:2 we are told it has become the habitation of devils and foul spirits. It has become a cage for every unclean and hateful bird. If we remain in this organisation we will be judged along with it. Peter informs us:

"For the time has come for judgement to begin at the house of God, and if it begins with us first, what will be the end of those who do not obey the gospel of God? 1 Pet 4:17.

So we have to ask ourselves" "What is the house of God"?

Turn to 1 Tim 3:15, which say:

"I write that you may know how you aught to conduct yourselves in the house of God (here Paul is speaking of the flesh), which is the church of the living God (God living in us). And 1 Cor 6:19 says "your body is the temple of the holy spirit."

What does this tell us? It is not enough to profess Jesus is the Christ; the Christian must give obedience to God in his flesh. What then happens if we are not obedient? Peter tells us:

"If the righteous one is scarcely saved, here will the ungodly and the sinner appear."1 Pet 4:18. And Jesus himself says:

"Not everyone who says to me Lord, Lord, shall enter the kingdom of heaven, but he who does the will of my Father in heaven. Matt 7:21-23.

What are we to do during this judgement period?

We are to practice what we preach because our lives are to be analysed and Jesus will weed out those who profess Him with their lips, but their deeds from the heart are of the devil.

We can also read in Heb 10:30 that: "the Lord will judge his people".

When Jesus asked the man without a wedding garment in the parable of the wedding feast in Matt 22, the man was speechless. He was so surprised at being asked why he was there because he thought he had the right to be there. He represents those who have professed Christ through their lives, but did not show His righteousness in their life. So the man was cast out of the wedding feast where it says there would be 'wailing and gnashing of teeth,' in other words they would scream and get angry at being thrown out. God rejects those who practice lawlessness and lawless is the breaking of God's commandments which is sin. 1 John 3-4. Today millions break the law but say they accept Christ.

Evolution.

Many Christians actually believe in the Theory of Evolution. The creation is considered a myth and Charles Darwin's hypothesis is accepted as if God has brought enlightenment to modern day Christians through science? But you cannot believe in a literal creation and a slow progression of life through millions of years. The two are not compatible. Either God created the world in 7 days or He caused a big bang, stood back and watched what would happen?

God wants us to know that the Theory of Evolution is one of the last day strong delusions spoken of by Paul in 2 Thes 2: 10-12, so through John, He repeats the everlasting gospel message in Rev 14:7 - to worship Him who made the heavens and the earth, the sea and the springs of water (did you know that it was only within the last century that scientists actually found their were springs of water under the sea). In verse 12 it says, "here is the patience of the saints who keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus. Unlike the commandments of God, evolution promotes no absolute moral conduct or accountability to anyone, let alone a creator God. Rev 14:7 reminds us that God is the creator pointing back to the Old Testament showing us that God's sign of his creatorship is the 4th commandment. Ex 31:13 and Ezek 20:12.

What then does the message of the 2nd angel tell us?

This message is warning us that there is a great danger in making a coalition of evil. Those who are in the apostate churches are told that Babylon is fallen. It is time to leave these churches.

In Rev 19:7 Jesus is to be married to his wife, that is the church. God's church is not a building, it is not a system, and it is not an institution. His churches are His true followers. If there are true followers, then there must also be false ones!

In Rev 12:1 we read that a great sign appeared in heaven, a woman clothed with the sunbeing with child, she cries out in labour and in pain about to give birth. In verse 6, the dragon appears to devour the child as soon as it was born but in verse 7 the dragon doesn't succeed (having tried to kill Jesus at birth and the cross), so he went to make war with her offspring those who have kept the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
The false church (also termed the dragon) makes war with God's Saints. Rev 17. Therefore the second angel's message is a warning against being associated with this false church. This false church is also termed the Mother of Harlots, so she has children. In verse 1 of Rev 17, John is shown the judgement of the harlot. In verse 2 we are told that this church made the kings commit fornication and the inhabitants drunk with the wine of her fornication. To fornicate means to willingly join in an immoral act with someone else. The kings willingly gave allegiance to the false church system by aiding her to enforce her will on the people. Everyone who joins this false church will fill up her wine and become drunk. This means that by accepting her doctrines they will become oblivious to the fact that they are in error. Just like a drunkard whose mind has been taken over by the alcohol. Verse 3 shows the church sitting on a scarlet beast full of blasphemy this is the fallen church putting herself on equal terms or even higher than God? Has any church done this? Here are just a few of quotes from the Roman Catholic Church:

a. "The Roman Catholic church has the right, in virtue of her divine commission, to require of everyone to accept her doctrine. Whoever obstinately refuses, or obstinately insists upon the election out of it of what is pleasing to himself is against her. But were the church to tolerate such an opponent, she must tolerate another. If she tolerates one sect, she must tolerate another sect, and thereby give herself up." Cardinal Manning, Essays on religion and literature, p403.

b. "We hold upon this earth the place of God Almighty." The great encyclical letters of Pope Leo xiii, encyclical letter June 20 1894

c. Cardinal Bellarmine says: "All names which in the scriptures are applied to Christ, by virtue of which it is established, that he is over the church, all the same names are applied to the Pope." On the authority of the councils, vol 2, p266,

d. "God himself is obliged to abide by the judgment of his priests and either not to pardon or to pardon according as they refuse or give absolution. The sentence of the priest precedes and God subscribes to it." Dignities and duties of the priest, vol 12 p27.

e. "The Roman Catholic church has the right to require that the catholic religion shall be the religion of the state, to the expulsion of others. Cursed be those who assert liberty of conscience and of worship and such that maintain that the Roman Catholic Church may not employ force." The syllabus of Pope Pius IX, Dec 1964.

f. "You may read the Bible from Genesis to Revelation and you will not find a single line authorising the sanctification of Sunday. The Scriptures enforce the religious observance of Saturday" Faith of our Fathers, page 561 by Cardinal James Gibbons

These are just some of the many claims made by Roman Catholic Bishops and Pope's over the centuries since the transfer of the Emperor's residence to Constantinople, which gave growing authority to the Bishop of Rome, who filled the vacant Emperors place and Rome, became the religious capital. (538 AD). Not only did the Bishop fill the Emperors place, he inherited his power, prestige and titles from paganism. The Papacy is but the ghost of the deceased Roman Empire sitting crowned upon its grave. Abbots Roman History p236; Stanley's History, p40.

Many devout Roman Catholics do not know the true history of their church. Much of it's past is hidden, glossed over or even denied. The people could only hear the Word of God in the Latin tongue and were never permitted to have access to a whole Bible. It wasn't until Martyn Luther, after reading the Bible for himself, finally called the Bishop of Rome the anti-Christ. The Reformation had begun and the Bible started to circulate in the language of the people. This was a thorn in the side of the Roman Catholic hierarchy. People now began to think for themselves on religious matters and because of this the Roman authorities used military force to quell the dissent. Millions died. Anyone found in possession of a Bible was immediately disposed of. It wasn't until around 1962 that it was still considered a mortal sin for a Roman Catholic to read the Bible. Of course today the Roman Catholic Church has its own Bible publishing house, but don't be fooled - the Bible's that are being printed have many differences and do not come from the same ancient texts as the King James Version.

In Verse 5 of Rev 17, it says: "And on her forehead a name was written: mystery, Babylon the great. The mother of harlots and an abomination of the earth.

Verse 6 shows her arrayed in colours of purple and scarlet and adorned with gold and precious jewels. Notice that this church has only two colours of the priesthood - purple and scarlet. The old Jewish priesthood had a strip of blue on the tassels of their robes. This was to remind them of the commandments of God. Numbers 15:38,39. She is also a very rich church.

By this time, John is amazed at what he is seeing, so the angel in verse 7 says to him: "why did you marvel," then the angel goes on to explain to John the mystery of the woman and the beast with 7 heads and 10 horns. "The 7 heads are seven hills which the beast sits upon, and the 10 horns are 10 kings (political powers)." Which at the time of John writing the book of Revelation had yet to receive power for 1 hour (from the Greek hora, which means for a season; an instant or a period of unspecified time). For further study of these horns read Dan 7:24; 7:7 and Rev 12:3,13:1.

So to summarise the false church or beast power:

A. She sits on 7 mountains
B. She has priests that wear purple and scarlet
C. She is a great city
D. She has subjected kings and princes to her rule
E. She has burned the saints of God for not bowing to her authority.
F. She is rich with gold and adorned with fine jewels
G. She calls herself a mother church
H. She has children of like mind.

So the second angel warns the world to listen to the first angels message, to understand the everlasting gospel, to worship God alone who made the heavens and the earth and to keep the commandments and have faith in Jesus.

The third Angels message is warning that:

"If anyone worships the beast and his image and receives the mark on his forehead or in his hand, he himself shall also drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out full strength into the cup of his indignation. And he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels and in the presence of the lamb. And the smoke of their torment ascends forever and ever, they have no rest day or night, who worship the beast and his image and whoever receives the mark of his name. Here is the patience of the saints, here are those who keep the commandments of God and have the faith of Jesus." Rev 14: 9-12

I gave this sermon to my local church in August 2015. They have heard this message many times through their life in the church. I urge all those who have not heard this message before, to read the Bible as if you were a student working towards a degree. Check out everything for yourself. Don't let your faith in Jesus and His Word rest upon the opinions of others, be they Priest, Minister, Pastor, Vicar or brother or sister in the faith.

There are many in the Roman Catholic faith, who are faithful to Jesus. They believe their church is the only one chosen by God to fulfil His work on this earth. But sincerity in belief will not save anyone in these last days. We are told to search the scriptures and to work out our own salvation. It is the Holy Spirit that convicts the heart to follow God. He will direct us to the written Word, which is Jesus's last love letter to His people. It is also our satellite navigation system along the highway of life - our road map to the kingdom of God. I urge you to open its pages daily to get closer to Jesus.

Amen
