How I Found Peace with God

Blessed be the LORD! 10th August, 2015 made it 22 years that i have been born again. It all began around 1992 in Unity Sec Schl Oye Ekiti when Tayo and another girl went out to urinate in their hostel at night. Unexpectedly, they saw an angel in the moon with a drawn-out sword. By daybreak, the news spread rapidly among the studentry. By the eve of the same day, either as mere coincidence or as an act of God, the sky turned reddish. So fear gripped a lot of us students thinking the world was coming to an end. As a result, my friend, Ayo Ogunsakin and I rather than go to our class room went to the music room to observe our evening prep and began a fellowship same night all in ignorance. (We thought that would help us escape God's wrath.) That fellowship later attracted hundreds of students after we had left the school. Eventually, i became the president of the fellowship there and then. I was easy going. No stealing. No girl friends. No smoking. I was a moralist sinner leading Christian brothers and sisters but i was not born again. People thought i was saved but I knew I was walking gently down to hell. I led prayers & praises. I gave sermons. I went on evangelism. I was very religious. Still, i was never saved! Hard to believe? On a particular sunday, instead of bringing a Reverend from town, I was asked to speak to all the students dressed in white uniform. The message was powerful! As I told them Jesus was coming soon and to be born-again, my conscience was pricking me: "What about you?" I probably shed some tears while preaching. My friend, Bro Sola, told me after the service that my sermon was powerful. I knew it because it convicted me too. The message hit Sister Kemi in a hard way. She prayed like a wounded lion! Still i did not get born-again. If God could use the donkey of Balaam, then don't ask why he used me as a moralist selfrighteous sinner. Cornelius was a good man but not saved until Peter preached to him (Acts 10). At a time, I thought being born-again was the same as speaking in tongues. So i tried to get it but nothing came. How ignorant I was! But thank God for a Deeper Life magazine I read that explained being born-again to me. I needed to REPENT, BELIEVE & CONFESS. Another great challenge I had was how to believe in Jesus and his blood which I had never seen before. I was very hard for me. I knew without being born-again I was doomed to HELL! So on 10th August, 1993, in our living room, i knelt down alone. I repented from my heart, believed in Jesus and his blood that were not visible to me. Jesus said, "Blessed are those that have not seen me, yet believe in me" (John 20:29). I confessed Jesus as my Lord and immediately there was a difference in my heart. It was as if a heavy load or stone was rolled away from my chest. Peace and joy that i had never experienced until then came into my heart. I did not need a prophet to tell me i was born-again. Rom 5:1 says "Being justified by faith we have PEACE WITH GOD through our Lord Jesus Christ." So i got up and began to jump and dance because at last, after months of seeking salvation, i got it. This is not religion or going to church. In fact, you can go from church into hell. Churchianity, Islam, Buddhism, traditionalim... can't save u. Jesus said, "I am the WAY, the TRUTH & the LIFE. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). Now what are you to do before it is too late? Rom 10:9 says, "If you confess with your mouth 'JESUS IS LORD' and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will saved." Do it right now & you won't regret it! I break the power of sin over your life in Jesus' name. I command the demons of drug, alcohol, sex, religion, money and deception to lose its grips and holds over your soul now in Jesus' name! Come out of darkness. Come out of oppression. Come out of bondage and pollution. In Jesus' name! Yes, welcome to the liberty of the sons of God.
