"Who Am I?"

The question presents itself...
I am, calls for a very tall order for one to delve,
Into sharing the truth about who you really are.
Looking back at my past life with many scars.

I really never cared about anyone but self...
I was impatient to the point of the regrets I felt.
I looked upon myself as an inadequate being,
Believing that I didn't know by leaving.

I took out on a journey that made me feel accepted...
Leaving my family behind with no feelings of rejection.
Self absorbed in my own little world.
Why in the world was I even given birth?

Life was empty and unsure...
Facing my fears I could not endure.
A lost soul groping for more.
Sinking into a pit of remorse.

Then someone heard my cry for help...
Not really believing that in life there was much worth.
Then it happened, someone heard my cry,
He took my hand and this was His reply.

Your sins are as scarlet, crimson red...
You are living a life as if you were dead.
Dead to those around you.
Those who you have hurt, live in remorse by you being crude.

What can I do to make things right?
Ask for forgiveness in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Tell Him, you are truly sorry for the wrong you have done.
Repent of your sins and believe that in Me you belong.

Looks can be deceiving...
It is in the heart of man that God sees.
He does not look at the outer shell.
Where beauty is vain through all that she tells.

Believing,
Receiving,
No longer pretending.
In, who I am...

For without Christ I am nothing...
My identity is in Him, you see.
For, He has given me a new life's plan.
Through the "Great I Am"...
