Praying the Scriptures GENESIS 4

Prayer
Lord, teach me to know the importance of bringing my sacrifice to you daily. As you accepted the sacrifice of Abel, Lord, accept the sacrifice of praise, my body, my offering and all I bring to you today. Lord, deliver me from the grip of envy. May I not fall into the temptation Cain fell into when he killed his brother because of anger and envy. Deliver me from strong negative emotions that have their grip on me.

May I not destroy my brethren with the words of my mouth because of their success. Help me instead, to examine myself and do what is right in your sight. Lord, I will not deceive myself into thinking that some sins are hidden from you, like
Cain thought you did not see him kill his brother. His blood cried from the ground to you.

Lord I pray that I would know afresh that my treatment of others might stand against me before you in judgment. Help me to do to others as I want them to do to me. Today as believers, we rejoice in the blood of Jesus Christ shed for us that cries out mercy and forgiveness. Thank you Lord.

Prayer
Lord help me to number my days so that I may apply my heart to wisdom. Only you have no genealogy and you cannot die, for you are the eternal God. Help me to fulfill my purpose here on earth and live for you.

This world is not my final destination; help me to realize that. Father, I want to walk with you.

Enoch walked with you in spite of the little knowledge available in his day. Lord, show me more and more of who you are, so that I can walk with you daily.

Help me to study your word for without it I cannot know you as I should. Lord, help me to hunger and thirst after you. Implant your passion in my heart. Help me to seek you with all my heart until I am satisfied with you.

Prayer
Lord, right from the beginning of man's fall, evil has been all around. People sin as they please. I will not, by your grace, conform to the dictates of the world or of my flesh or of the devil. May the world not be my standard but your Word.

Help me to stand up for the truth in my surroundings. May I be a light in a world of darkness so that people will see my light and glorify you. Lord, may I find grace in your sight as Noah did when you were about to destroy the world.

In time of judgment, show me your grace. See the blood of Jesus that has been applied on me and pass over when you visit with your righteous judgement. As you saved not only Noah but also his family from destruction, I claim every member of my family for the kingdom of Christ. None of us shall be a child of perdition. We shall all be saved in Jesus' name.

Help me to preach the Gospel and the second coming of Christ to the world.
