Watchmen at Bay

A watchman by definition is one who observes into the distance and forewarns of any imminent dangers striking the land. In the Old Testament (Ezekiel 33), biblically he is set as the man to blow the trumpet concerning the approaching enemies. Spiritually, God set vigilant watchmen to steer us back on track, whenever we run-off the pathways of HIS will. Such great a responsibility has of a man appointed by God.

For me, it is my uncle who possessed such traits as above. I regard him as my spiritual father chastening and correcting me, when I faced lapse of remembrance on the awesome power of God. When I forgotten how God bears painstakingly and long-suffering, patiently to witness myself climbing out from darkness. Regardless whether I was a stubborn or a disobedient child, HIS love has not cease since the day HE set HIS eyes upon me. Through many occasions when I turned a deaf ear to HIS voice, HE sends then HIS appointed watchman to rekindle the burning desire for HIM.

These watchmen provided with godly authority, hold accountability of the way those under their care walk. If they choose not to practice and exercise the blessings from above, many sheep would have gone astray. God has put inside their hearts, a longing to see those besides themselves falling in love with God. They are ministers who labor to see God's name be proclaimed on high. They selflessly seek to pray and fast for those "so lost, yet lost and are lost". If they being our pastors, elders and spiritual fathers have such desire over our lives, how much more in measure has our Heavenly Father over us? (Mat 7:11)

Therefore, we turn to and ask of HIM simple questions of how to continue these recommendable practices of the watchmen. I guess it is to extend this circle of love to others on striking similar chords with Jesus for HIS people. HE is God alive, filled with love, joy and peace (Rom 15:13), ever-present to comfort us when sorrowful and to laugh with us when happy. We give praises to HIS watchmen, for guiding us to put God always at the limelight and focus in our lives. For it is unto our gain, to share goodness of Lord with HIS people. Praise God!
