Our Heavenly Bodies

by Gregory John Monroe
1/03/2016 / Education

Aches and pain will have passed away, never to return; the same, of course, with death. The blind will see. The lame will run. The possibility of contracting a disease? Forget about it; it'll never happen.

Will we be ethereal spirits? I don't think so. Our heavenly bodies will be spiritual (1 Corinthians 15: 44), but solid and physical. I base that, too, on the Bible. It says that our lowly bodies will be transformed into the likeness of Jesus' glorious body. Philippians 3: 20, 21.

After Jesus was resurrected, He appeared to His disciples who were frightened by His presence. They thought He was an apparition. But Jesus said to them, "Behold My hands and My feet, that it is I Myself. Handle Me and see, for a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see I have." Luke 24:39. At another time, He also ate with them.

By the way, because the door was locked when Jesus appeared to them, we'll probably have the ability to instantaneously appear and disappear at and from any location.

Will we recognize each other? The answer has to be "yes." The Bible says: "For now we see in a mirror, dimly, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I shall know just as I also am known." 1 Corinthians 13:12.

Will we age, grow older? I can't find a direct biblical reference on this topic. But I imagine we adults will age, but only in terms of the passage of time; not in terms of physical appearance. However, all the aging ravages that this earthly time has inflicted upon our bodies will disappear. Our look will be forever radiantly and healthily enhanced.

As for children, I don't think they'll remain as such. I imagine them physically growing into a fixed-look "adulthood." The time it takes for this, though, will be slowed down, compared to the time we now inhabit. What makes me think this is the scripture in Isaiah 65: 20, in which it's said that the child shall die (meaning "ceases" to be a child) at one hundred years old.

The most exciting thing about the prospects for our new bodies is getting away from all those aches and pains No, that's not it. I kid (sort of). The most exciting thing will be being as He is and seeing Him face to face.

Many will be shocked by Gregory's book, The Three Angels' Message. It ID's Antichrist and the "mark of the beast," and the role both are playing today in the end-time issue of worship. The book's biblical & historical proof can't be denied. Get more info now at http://www.tinyurl.com/6pk3pyq
