Praying the Scriptures Luke 1 - 3

by Tai Ikomi
1/05/2016 / Prayers

Chapter 1
Prayer
Lord, help me not to doubt your Word. Let me know that the laws of nature cannot deter you from doing what you wish to do. As Zechariah was made dumb because of his unbelief, may I not suffer the repercussions of unbelief. Help me to see you as higher than my situation. As Mary believed you, in spite of the laws of nature, I bow to your promises for my life in faith. Lord, I thank you for the conception of Jesus. You did not shun the womb of Mary because of the mission you had for the human race. I praise you. In spite of Zechariah's unbelief, you were faithful to open his mouth as you promised you would. As John the Baptist was born to herald the second coming of Christ, I know your purpose for me in this world shall be fulfilled in Jesus mighty name.

Chapter 2
Praise
Lord, I praise you because you are the God of the covenant. You are faithful. You gave your Word that a virgin would give birth to the Messiah. And in the fullness of time, you performed your promise. Lord, who is like you? You are faithful. You are dependable. You are the Covenant-keeping God. Thank you for the gift of Jesus Christ. I thank Him for such a wonderful name, JESUS, by whom we can be saved from our sins. You promised Simeon that he would not die until he saw Jesus Christ born. And he saw Jesus dedicated in the Temple. You did not disappoint Anna either. You are not a partial God. I bless you Lord.

Prayer
As angels rejoiced at your birth, may I never lose sight of the reason for Christmas. As the religious leaders were impressed with the spiritual insight of Jesus. I pray that I also learn at your feet Lord Jesus. As Jesus was about His Father's business, help me to put your Kingdom first also in my life.

Chapter 3
Prayer
Lord, may I be a forerunner for you. Help me to prepare the hearts of men for you. As John the Baptist was faithful in preparing people to meet the coming Savior, may I go out of my way to tell people that the Word of salvation has been accomplished. Help me to tell them of their need to repent and accept Jesus as their Lord and Savior. Give me a due word for everyone you sent along my path. Lord, may my life be pleasing to you. May Jesus be my role model in humility, in obedience to you, in everything. I thank you Lord, that you are not only a descendant of Abraham, you are also that of Adam, the universal man. I bless you.
