The Freedom of Religion

"Everyone shall have the right to freedom of thought, conscience, and religion. This right shall include freedom to have or to adopt a religion or belief of his choice, and freedom, either individually or in community with others and in public or private, to manifest his religion or belief in worship, observance, practice, and teaching" -Article 18(1) of the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights

The freedom of religion gives all people the constitutional right to believe or worship anyone or anything that they choose. Whether or not we agree with a person's choice does not matter. I don't agree with many choices that mankind makes but they have a God given right as well as a constitutional right to believe what they believe.

Religion however is based upon do's and don'ts. There is really no freedom in religion. Religion is based upon laws and whether you keep the laws or not. Religion is man's attempt to please God but it is done so by the carnal fleshly man and not by God's Spirit.

The problem we seem to face is that many religions think they are God or try to play God over others. Just because a person does not believe the way you do does not give a person the right to kill them. They are deceived into thinking that they are pleasing God or doing him a favor by eliminating a person from the earth. My Bible says this.

John 10:10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I am come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly.

2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.

When any person in the name of a religion goes around killing others then they are serving the devil and not God. They are deceived terribly. Without them coming to Jesus and being forgiven and cleansed they are instead sending themselves to hell. Jesus did not come to kill people. He came to give to them life. It is not his will that any perish but instead they be saved and have eternal life with him.

Many religions seem to think that killing a person that does not believe as they do is God's will. That is far from the truth. It does not matter what or who you worship legally. You can worship a can of tuna or a jar of spaghetti sauce and it is legal. Maybe a little strange in my book, but it is still legal in America. But when you decide to kill a person that does not also worship a can of tuna, then you are outside your rights in the freedom of religion.

Unfortunately there are people in all religions that decide to play God over others and kill people. We cannot condemn a whole religion because of the bad ones. Granted some religions teach things that are contrary to what the Bible says but as long as they believe that and do not try to put those beliefs in action by hurting others, then they are free to believe what they want. Freedom of religion does not give a person the right to kill anyone. This is totally the devils plan. ISIS is a great example of this. Unfortunately they come from a Muslim background. All Muslims are not bad people. Even though I do not agree with their beliefs as I have accepted Jesus Christ as my Savior and found freedom and a personal relationship with God almighty through His Son Jesus Christ and the Holy Spirit I still have to give them the right to believe as they choose. God gave to us a free will and the right to be wrong. We all pay a price in one way or another for our wrong beliefs and/or choices. Just as all other religions or races are not bad people. We cannot condemn everyone that has to be of a particular race or religion. When we kill a person then we are preventing them from in sometime in their life turning to God and being saved so they will have an eternal home with Jesus in Heaven. I did not meet Jesus till I was twenty-eight. Some people like my mother met Jesus two weeks before she died. God loves everyone. He of course does not love what some people do. Yet scripture says that all have sinned and come short of the Glory of God. We all sin. Sin is sin no matter what form it is. Rebellion is sin against God. It is man being just like the devil and wanting to play God and run their life or someone else's. Yet God forgives sin and remembers it no more when we surrender our life to Him and ask him to forgive.

Since God is love, then except we have love for others we are not of God. God loves people into His presence. He does not hit them over the head with the Bible or religion. He is a personal God. He wants to have fellowship with each and every person. Jesus loves you. He is not going to kill you for not believing but will send the Holy Spirit to try to teach you His ways if you will listen and allow him to do so. He does not force anyone. Yet like everything in life there is a cause and effect. Right choices bring good, wrong ones bring bad.

I realize the dilemma over the Muslims. Because so many have demonstrated that they believe killing non Muslims is God's answer, it makes it very difficult to determine what their true belief is. Many people are now scared of the Muslims which I can understand even though not all of them are out to kill people but are peace loving.
The problem is how do you determine this? Does bringing Muslims into this country set us up for groups such as ISIS? There has really never been a problem until all the killing has emerged throughout the world. It is too bad that the ones that are non violent are being persecuted now but surely anyone with any common sense can see why that it is. We do not need suicide bombers and people being murdered. We seem to have more than we can handle all ready. I am so sorry that people are being judged falsely and are having to go through what they are going through. But hopefully this article will help to bring some understanding.

I hope and pray that all mankind will meet Jesus and serve Him alone. Then and only then will a spirit of unity and love exist. I know this is just a dream and this will only take place in Heaven but is sure is a nice dream anyway.
