Trust No One

by Steve Countryman
4/02/2016 / Christian Living

To trust someone is to place your trust in them. There are different levels of trust just as there are different kinds of friendship. You typically trust a friend and trust even more that of a close or best friend. Your trust may be in there opinions or feelings. You trust professionals based on their abilities in their fields of expertise. You trust your teachers in school that the facts you were told were true. You trust that when someone in authority quotes rules or laws to you that they know what they are talking about.

To trust in man is to be disappointed. For no man or woman is perfect and sooner or later that trust will turn to disappointment. The truth is that trust is often broken just as facts are subject to change. If you trust in facts to be the truth then you're going to be disappointed! Look at why Galileo was thrown in prison. He believed and taught that the earth rotated around the sun and not the other way around. The "truth" of that day was wrong and Galileo was right.

Your beliefs are directly tied to those things that you truly trust! You cannot believe in something that you don't trust in. Likewise, you cannot trust in something that you don't believe in!

So where do you place your trust? Who do you trust? What do you base your "core beliefs" in? Do you trust in your government or your leaders? Do you trust in the media to tell you ALL the truth? Do you trust EVERYTHING you read or see on the Internet? Do you allow others to form your opinions and trusts?

Of ALL the things to trust in the single most important thing has to be where you spend eternity. Where do you put your trust in your eternity, your teachers/professors, world theology, your best friend or your family members? Is it in your local church? Is it in your pastor? Or do you put your trust in those TV evangelists to guide you to eternity? Do you allow others to tell you what the Bible says about your future? Do you trust that the Bible is the absolute Word of God? If so then why would you allow someone to spoon feed you the Word as they want to interrupt it? Can you trust them to do so correctly? Would you bet your eternal life on them? When was the last time you picked up your Bible and searched through the scriptures to verify what someone told you?

Proverbs 3:5-6 "5Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; 6in all your ways submit to him, and he will make your paths straight." Psalm 28:7"The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in him, and he helps me. My heart leaps for joy, and with my song I praise him." Psalm 32:10"Many are the woes of the wicked, but the Lord's unfailing love surrounds the one who trusts in him."
Psalm 91:2 I will say of the Lord, "He is my refuge and my fortress, my God, in whom I trust." His Word says "trust in the Lord", it doesn't say trust in God and man but in God alone.

Trust no one! As messed up as the world is today don't let it dictate to you where you will spend eternity! There is only One God and His name is NOT Allah, Buddha, Krishna or Divine Mother. His name is Jehovah God and the ONLY way to God is through His Son Jesus Christ of Nazareth! That is THE TRUTH that you can put ALL of your trust in
