I Stand!

Ephesians 6:13 "Therefore put on the full armor of God, so that when the day of evil comes, you may be able to stand your ground, and after you have done everything.. to stand." Exodus 14:13 "Moses answered the people, "Do not be afraid. Stand firm and you will see the deliverance the LORD will bring you today." Job 11:15 "then, free of fault, you will lift up your face; you will stand firm and without fear." Psalm 20:8 "They are brought to their knees and fall, but we rise up and stand firm." Proverbs 10:25 "When the storm has swept by, the wicked are gone, but the righteous stand firm forever."

Isaiah 7:9 "If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all." Matthew 10:22 "You will be hated by everyone because of me, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved." Luke 21:19 "Stand firm, and you will win life." 1 Corinthians 15:58 "Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you." 1 Corinthians 16:13 "Be on your guard; stand firm in the faith; be courageous; be strong." 2 Corinthians 1:24 "Because it is by faith you stand firm." Galatians 5:1 "It is for freedom that Christ has set us free. Stand firm, then, and do not let yourselves be burdened again by a yoke of slavery."

Taking and making a stand in today's world is becoming more important as a Christian. If you claim to be a Christian, how do you prove it to other people? When they see you do you "look" like the rest of the world or is there something radically different about you? You cannot claim to be "Christ-like" if you believe in abortion! You cannot represent the bible as the undeniable Word of God if you believe that homosexual marriage is ok! How can you take a stand on God's Word if you don't believe it?

To stand is to make a firm decision. To stand is to take a position. To be unmovable, to stand unshaken. To stand determined and committed. To stand unwavering and uncompromising regardless of what the world thinks is ok. To stand so firm as to not give up, give in or quit. Standing in ALL of the power and authority of heaven!

When you stand you do so standing in your beliefs. Doing so is not to stand in political correctness but to be ridiculed, hated and harassed for believing in Jesus as the One and only Son of God. Your stand represents who you are and who you belong to. "Fence riders" cannot make or take a stand for they are not committed or dedicated. They fear offending their friends and family more then offending God!

The opposite of stand is to bow down, defeated, to surrender, to quit, to give up and give in. Another example would be those who "cave in" to peer pressure. Standing is a position of victory!

When you stand you are standing in God's righteousness, His truth and Word. Standing in God's ways and principles. Standing on God's promises, commitment to His Word fulfilled and His eternal faithfulness! For you cannot stand without God but with God ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE! I am a servant of the Most High God and today I STAND!
