Are You A Madam?

by Olawale Ogunsola
5/10/2016 / Womens Interest

Every meaning given to the word "Madam." in the Dictionary is correct, whichever you cleave to. In the middle of year 2015, another meaning was "added" to the list of meanings given to Madam?

The source of the "new" meaning is not a Nobel Prize Winner in Literature or linguistics,, Nor is the source a renown author but a young female broadcaster with Federal Radio Corporation of Nigeria (FRCN) Ibadan National Station, in West Africa.
On that lovely and lively day, she co-presented an early morning program in Yoruba, one of the three major languages in the country with a young man.

At the commencement of the program, the man opted to speak first bragging that "Okunrin Lada."; meaning "a man is a cutlass.". So, he read the first news item. When it was the lady's turn, she started with "Obirin ni Madaam." This translates to "A woman knows how to handle a cutlass."

No man will be comfortable being addressed as a "Madam" So I agree with her.

The overall simple meaning of this is that no matter how big, short, small, tall, long, sharp a cutlass (a man) is, a handler (a woman) ought to know how to handle it, instead of complaining, grumbling, condemning or putting it aside for any reason. To do this effectively and efficiently require a very strong weapon in a woman. What can this be?
Do you want to know? Proverbs 14:1 reveals,
"The wise woman builds her house,
But the foolish pulls it down with her hands."NKJV.

One thing I want you, my reader, to note is that no two cutlasses are exactly the same; so each deserves different handling, carefully and cautiously with wisdom. Otherwise, you may sustain injuries from wrong handling of a cutlass. Pay close attention to truth that "a wise woman builds with her hands." Most of the time, a hand is used to handle a cutlass. And not that a committee of wise women builds a house. " Please, do not form a wrong notion that I am against seeking Godly counseling. After seeking it, application remains with the woman in question.

Where do you acquire the needed wisdom?
"If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him." James 1:5 NKJ V

Therefore, if you want to be a "Madaamu", you need Godly wisdom which is divine. Have you got a blunt cutlass? You need wisdom to handle it!
Are you blessed with a sharp cutlass? Handle it well with wisdom. Do you have a rotten one? You need wisdom.. Irrespective of the description of your man, there is divine wisdom with God to handle him. Ask for it in faith because, "Wisdom is the principal thing". Things becomes easier and more lively after you have got it. Let me draw this to a close with, "The happiest woman is not one who married the best man; but the woman who makes the best man of the one she married."
Therefore, to be the happiest woman, become a Madam!
Stay blessed and rapturable because the Lord is coming soon.
