JESUS AS CARPENTER

by sarala mary
5/28/2016 / Salvation

One particular day when I was praying suddenly a question popped in my heart about JESUS being a carpenter in this world. Immediately Holy Spirit started giving me the answer. The Spirit of God made me to imagine about Jesus before 2016 years ago.

How a carpenter Jesus would have started His job?
Initially Jesus would have planned to do something with a wood. Let us take an example that Jesus have thought to create a chair. So first step He has planned to create a chair. The same way today even in our life God has great plan. He has planned a great future for us.

After planning what did Jesus do?
One morning Jesus came walking along the roadside to find a wood to make a chair. He came searching for the wood, after sometime His eyes looked on a dirty, filthy and rough textured wood on a roadside who no one want to see it. But Jesus with His loving hands took that wood and embraced in His bosom and decided to make a chair out of that. But on the way to the shop the wood started slipping from his arms and whenever it slipped it scratched His bosom and blood started coming from His bosom but still Jesus didn't hated that wood. Even though it gave Him pain and was slipping away from Him He embraced the wood because Jesus loved that wood very much.

Today we are that stingy, filthy and strange wood that were lying somewhere in this dirty world filled with sins. Our life was completely filled with sins. But a day came Jesus came in searching for us in this dirty world and he choose us and touched with His arms, cleansed all our sins and embraced us in His bosom. But even after knowing Jesus there are many times we look back to this world and leave His arms, we purposely slip from his bosom. But we never think we are hurting Jesus.

What would have Jesus done after this?
Jesus would have cut the wood with all the tools to shape it so that a good chair can be made. The same way once we enter into the Spiritual life Jesus will start molding us through His Word or Spiritual mentors, pastors or in our personal experience so that we reach the proper destination what God has planned for us. God will start cutting all the unwanted in us and mould us in a good and proper shape. It will be painful but be patient the destination is great.

Next what Jesus would have done?
Jesus would have joined all the parts with nails and hammer to create a chair. When the nails pierced into woods it would have given pain for the wood but it is for the goodness of the wood. The same way fruits of God would be pierced inside us by the Holy Spirit to transform like Jesus. It would create pain but it's for a better destiny.

Finally Jesus saw the chair He wanted to make it shine so He would have applied varnish over it and gave glow to the chair. The same way Jesus is filling us with His fire anointing so that we have to shine for the Lord. Today in that chair a person will sit, tomorrow some other person will use that and the other day somebody else will sit. Similarly today we will be used by God in one place, tomorrow to other group of people likewise.

When Jesus was a carpenter in this world He used three things wood, nails and hammer. He took these three things in his hand and used it every day. A day came when Jesus was in this world that He has to be crucified in the cross for our sins. Even in that day the same three things wood, hammer and nails were used for His crucifixion. The things which Christ used, those same things went inside Christ and gave Him pain in the cross. Blood flowed from every parts of His body.

Even today we are in Christ hands used by Him and for Him like these wood, nails and hammer. But when we turn back to world even after knowing Jesus that means we are crucifying Him again in the cross. Today let us analyze our self, are we like this wood, nails and hammer? If we are one among them let's repent and submit our self to Christ. The Bible says "Repent, for the kingdom of heaven is at hand." (Matthew 4:17). Let us repent and come closer to His Cross. Jesus loves you very much. Jesus is waiting for you.

This is the reason why Jesus choose to be a carpenter, not only 2016 years before he made a chair but even today He is molding each and every one of us according to His will to reach our destination. Still Jesus is a carpenter in our life.
