"When you walk through the water" The waters of life can seem like a torrential flood threatening to drown the life out of us. They rise to the tip of our chin and we cry, "Oh Lord, save me! This is too much for me to bear alone." The floods continue. The strength of the current swirls around us. We see only the surface of the water, and that's what terrifies us most. The same goes with our trials. We feel the pain. We see the bad reports. We hear the roar of the lion's lies provoking more fear. Just one more wave and that will be the end of us, we fear.
" I will be there" We have a promise that we must hold on to. He has not left us alone. He will be there. He is there. Is He standing there to watch you suffer and grasp for breath? Is He looking to see how much you can handle before He helps? Is He waiting for the current to sweep you off your feet? Never!
If we were to peer under the water, we would see the strength of our endurance, He is upholding us. If we saw the might of the current washing over our stance, we would see He is keeping us still, immovable. If we could see the power of the waters, we would know that He has commanded this far and no more.
If you are in the water and they threaten to overflow, Be Still. Rest in the Savior not only of your soul but every circumstance of your life. For it is He that upholds you and gives you the strength to walk in the middle of the worst currents of life and come out stronger than you went in.
