America is at a Crossroad

America has many decisions to make with all of the mass killings, storms, floods, fires, wars, and constant disasters. No man is able to contain this mess. With the election we are asked to put our trust in the nominees for each party though we see little to trust. What is the answer to this dilemma that we face?

America has lost its belief and trust in God. Most churches are religious but have no power any more. They give little hope to people that are struggling. There is a scripture that says:

2 Timothy 3:5 Having a form of godliness, but denying the power thereof: from such turn away.

We have become religious with a form of godliness but the power of God is rarely allowed anymore. We have removed Jesus from our country and lives. We have bought the lies of the devil that we can run things. Obviously if we can we are doing a pretty poor job of it. Our country is walking in fear. Fear is faith but it is negative faith. It is expecting the bad and not the good. Scripture says:

2 Timothy 1:7 For God hath not given us the spirit of fear; but of power, and of love, and of a sound mind.

Notice that fear is a spirit according to the Bible. Fear does away with our power, our love, and our sound mind. While walking in fear we are unable to make good decisions, love with God's love, or have any power to deal with problems of this life. God tells us that it takes faith to please him and that we are to walk by faith. It is no wonder we are a mess as we are not believing in a Jesus that will and does change things if we only trust and believe him. We have been trusting in our ability and in another person's ability and have found that this trust has produced what we were afraid of. I think of the police and the things that they go through. I cannot imagine going to work every day and having to deal with the fears. Not knowing if stopping a car for something illegal with get you shot. How can they have a sound mind in their job anymore? They have a family that they love but never know if they will get to come home again. What a terrible way to live. They are not super human and never have to deal with the fears. Everyone deals with them even though Jesus can and will deliver us from them if we will serve him. Fear is a spirit and is not us. We do not have to carry it, We can have power and victory over it if we walk the way that Jesus desires. Yes, they make mistakes and react out of this fear. It would be difficult not to. I wonder if all the people that are against the police would walk in their shoes if their perspective would change. It is easy to complain but maybe others should have to go through what they have too. Yes I agree that if an officer does something illegal that they should receive punishment just like any other person that breaks the law. Yet I do understand why some of this happens. They are scared and most people would be. When we are without fear we can pro-act not react. It is a much different walk.

People just do not realize how important having Jesus in your life truly is. He is a protection to those who will serve him. He is a deliverer to those who deal with fears. He is peace in any storm of life. He is our power over all the attacks of the devil. He is love that is pure and beautiful. Yet, mankind seems determined to do things their own way and leave Jesus out. Do you go where you are not wanted? Jesus does not go either most of the time. He will at times but He like us wants to be wanted and needed. Unfortunately the church has given people little to want to pursue. They see lots of words but little help and change in people's lives. They see a dead God not a God that is still alive and powerful and will intervene if we will only seek and ask, and cry out to him. Jesus is more than just reading the Bible and getting our head full of memorized scriptures. Scripture says:

2 Chronicles 7:14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Jesus is willing but man isn't. Unless we start seeking the Lord and allow him to come and heal our land we are only going to see worse things. People don't need more laws they need a heart change. Only Jesus can do this. People that are full of unforgiveness, bitterness, hate, murder, and self righteousness are not going to change without God changing their heart. They don't care about what the law says as they want to see what they believe is justice no matter the cost to them. America, we can continue on this road that we are on, or we can get back to God and pray and seek him again. God gave us Hi Son Jesus that we might live and walk in victory. This is a crossroad for America. We have two choices. One will bring more death and destruction and one will produce new life. The choice is ours.
