Pastors of the Revolution

by Steve Countryman
10/11/2016 / Christian Living

Over thirty pastors, ministers and clergy from over fifteen different denominations came together and were actively involved in the American Revolution. They were involved as fighting men, organizers, chaplains and ANY need that came along. These pastors put their lives on the line for what they believed! Pastors held planning and recruiting meetings in their churches. Others later held regular church meetings in government buildings every week. Needless to say that these men played a key and vital role in the American Revolution. Their messages from the pulpits werent typical Sunday sermons but were instead a call to arms. Unlike today they were very politically involved and could not remain silent in their pulpits!

Understanding this; what are the chances that the United States Constitution would forbid them to be involved with our federal government? "Separation of church and state" is not found ANYWHERE in the constitution but is quoted and paraded around as if it were! Freedom of religion is not to be confused with freedom from religion. "Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord!"

The first amendment states "Congress shall make no law respecting an establishment of religion, or prohibiting the free exercise thereof; or abridging the freedom of speech, or of the press; or the right of the people peaceably to assemble, and to petition the Government for a redress of grievances."

This amendment PROHIBITS the government from mandating any religion over another. "State" mandated religion is the government stepping in and declaring only one religion to be practiced and no other. It was so important to our founding fathers that they made it the FIRST amendment to the constitution.

To the average citizen, all you have to do is to look around at ALL the federal buildings in Washington DC to know how much Jehovah God and Christianity played in the forming and framing of this country. The biblical figures, the scriptures and the Ten Commandment are on those buildings.

For any prominent person or United States president to declare that the United States of America is NOT a Christian nation is for them to speak the native tongue of the Devil! Christianity is NOT a religion but a Way of life! Regardless who is in the White House God is God of His country the United States of America! God plans on using the church to bring this country back to Him.

It is amazing how those "politically correct" folks always use tolerance and diversity as reasons to shut up us Christians. All the while allowing other religions to come in and dictate their beliefs over ours! They want you to change your thinking and to compromise your beliefs away to accept the SIN with the SINNER and call it diversity. If you criticize them and what they are doing then you are a racists.

Racist means"any person who believes that some races are better than others, or who acts or treats someone unfairly due to his or her race." Wait a minute; it didn't say religious beliefs but ONLY RACE. You can't be racist against Muslims for it is not a race but a religion. They are the guilty ones when it comes to discriminating against Christians but yet we don't call them racist. But to them calling someone a racist sounds so much more demeaning, degrading and hurtful than discriminating.

Romans 15:5 "Now may the God of patience and comfort grant you to be like-minded toward one another, according to Christ Jesus." 1 Corinthians 1:10 "I appeal to you, brothers and sisters, in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that all of you agree with one another in what you say and that there be no divisions among you, but that you be perfectly united in mind and thought." Ephesians 4:3 "Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace."

If we are truly Christians then shining the light of God's love and truth to the world should always be our goal. When the world sees us they should also see Christians who mean and do what they say everyday, living the Word. The Word says that we are to love one another as Christ loved the church. What then will it take for ALL of us 9000 different Christian denominations to show God's love and come together in unity? How can we convince the world that we serve The God of love when we can't love our Christian brothers and sisters from other denominations? Until we do our testimonies will not have the power that God intended them to have!

It is time for the pulpits of this great country to come together in Godly unity. Please pray for the stirring of the hearts and spirits of our pastors, preachers, ministers, priests, bishops, teachers, prophets and evangelist. Please pray for ALL the pulpits of America!
