My Landscape

Through Your blood my landscape changed
My valleys are not the same
The promises You made of old
Are opening to me as Your Word unfolds
I shake my head and smile
My physical needs and wants
You have multiplied
I wait, for my heart knows there are greater
blessings to come

I will one day see a city, I have not built
A house filled with goodness, I have not filled
A river of living water, I have not dug
Trees of healing fruit, I have not sown

A landscape prepared for a new day
But now I must not fall into my old ways
A valley, my feet cut by thorns
Cliffs, razor sharp, hands bleeding and torn
My landscape has changed, no more tears
from the pain
My mountain path is now so easy
I don't deserve the Way I have claimed
I can't see my future here, where shadows
are cast

So my heart sees a shining city
A house full of love and laughter
A glimmering river, rippling songs of praise
Trees, sweet fruit, that will set my mind ablaze

My name is Linda Jackson. I am a blessed wife, mother and grandmother. I am a Biblical counselor and teacher to women in jail. I also teach kindergarten Sunday school. I enjoy writing, playing in the yard with my plants and doing cross stitch while watching football.
