Religious Freedom

As I give thanks, I add religious freedom to my Thanksgiving list.

We still have this cherished freedom in the United States of America.

Such doors of evangelistic outreach are not open everywhere.

Apostle Paul witnessed faithfully; while under arrest, he conducted much of his ministry.

"Continue in prayer, and watch in the same with thanksgiving; Withal praying also for us, that God would open unto us a door of utterance, to speak the mystery of Christ, for which I am also in bonds (Colossians 4:2-3 KJV)."

Presently, Christians are persecuted in many nations; the numbers are appalling. Laymen, pastors and missionaries die as martyrs for their faith. I ask for the LORD's strength to live or die for mine.

"According to my earnest expectation and my hope, that in nothing I shall be ashamed, but that with all boldness, as always, so now also Christ shall be magnified in my body, whether it be by life, or by death. For to me to live is Christ, and to die is gain (Philippians 1:20-21 KJV)."

Paul's faith inspires me. He had set his house in order.

His priorities were clearly defined. He carried the torch of religious freedom.

"Stand fast therefore in the liberty wherewith Christ hath made us free, and be not entangled again with the yoke of bondage (Galatians 5:1 KJV)."
