Do You REALLY Know The Promises of God?

by Dinora Garza
2/09/2017 / Christian Living

"Not one of the good promises which the Lord had spoken to the house of Israel failed; all had come to pass." (Joshua 21: 45)

After Joshua distributed the Promised Land among the Jews, the Bible tells us that every promise God made to them came to pass. Now, I ask you, is this a reality in your own life?

What promises have been a source of comfort and consolation to you in times of hardship? (Take the time to think your answers thoroughly). Can you name at least five promises God made you? How many of them came to pass?  Can you say, with total conviction, that everything God promised to you He fulfilled it?

By the way, if you couldn't remember any specific promises, don't get discouraged. Most of us have read them, and still don't remember them. But think about it, how can we thank God or praise Him for fulfilling promises we don't remember or don't even know He made us? Determine in your heart to learn, even memorize the promises of God from now on. They will be a source of peace and hope in times of trouble. Here are some of the promises of God that have sustained me throughout the years:

"And we know that God causes all things to work together for good to those who love God, to those who are called according to His purpose."

"O fear the Lord, you His saints; for to those who fear Him there is no want."

"Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and all these things will be added to you."

"He will not allow your foot to slip; He who keeps you will not slumber. Behold, He who keeps Israel will neither slumber nor sleep."

"The Lord is my Shepherd, I shall not want.'

"The young lions do lack and suffer hunger, but they who seek the Lord shall not be in want of any good thing."

God bless you!
