Transition by Transformation

My husband and I have moved countless times. In our early years of marriage, we averaged a move every six months. It gave us the opportunity to see new places and make many new friends.

One necessity in packing for a move is discarding old useless items. After settling in our next home, we’d need new furnishings. ‘Out with the old, in with the new.’ I recall a humorous incident from a time when my parents moved from New York State to Texas.

When packing, they used large plastic bags for some light items like towels. We all had a good laugh; Mom discovered that someone had included a bag of their trash when loading their rental truck. Life is not a joke. Moving from lost to saved is serious.

Praise God! He makes the transition a priority.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new (2 Corinthians 5:17 NKJV).”

I anticipate my final change. He’ll give me a brand new body.

“Behold, I tell you a mystery: We shall not all sleep, but we shall all be changed— in a moment, in the twinkling of an eye, at the last trumpet. For the trumpet will sound, and the dead will be raised incorruptible, and we shall be changed. For this corruptible must put on incorruption, and this mortal must put on immortality (1 Corinthians 15:51-53 NKJV)."
