Dear God-tracker

GOD-TRACKING IS FIRST, GETTING ON TRACK WITH GOD, THROUGH CHRIST

Psalm 119:105
Your word is a lamp to my feet and a light to my path.

Fourteen years ago a listener of my radio show, On Track wrote an email to me asking me to send him a hardcopy version of the content of my show. On Track came about after the Lord revealed to me how the Christian walk is seldom clear-cut. In my humble 55 years of life, I have found that, if I acknowledge God in all my ways, he will always direct my paths. However, the paths I often find myself on are seldom direct; they seem to progress, as it were, from A to B to C and then off to X and Y, before getting back to D. But all along my life’s track, I have found God has a plan for me to both impact and be impacted by people and circumstances, along the way. He knows the plans he has for me, I don’t, so I need to remain on track with God’s plans for me wherever they may take me. Hence the title of my radio show.

All along this track of life I have found two ingredients to be invaluable in my God-tracking: God’s Spirit and God’s Word. Tracking God’s will can be precarious at times, to say the least. Life can be filled with many ups and many downs. Life can be thwarted with challenges, changes and choices. At every corner in life, I need clear guidance which way to turn. At every obstacle in life, I need strength and tenacity to overcome. Without Christ, I think I would have been in a right quandary in facing life’s complications. The truth is, Jesus is my way and he is my life. God’s Word is the lamp that lights my path and the fellowship of his Holy Spirit is the power that moves my feet along my path. I have discovered that the Word of God is found in the Bible and the fellowship of the Holy Spirit is found in prayer. Without these I would be lost.

How about you? Have you found life to be a guessing game? How do you know you’ve made the right choices? Listen: In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make straight your paths. Finding happiness and success begins with making the greatest choice you could ever make – choosing Christ! It could be you’ve been reading this weekly devotional for many years but never actually surrender your life to Jesus Christ. Why not do it now? Believe that Jesus died and rose again to reconcile you to God and confess him as Lord. It’s no good doing one without the other, you need to believe and confess. God does have a plan for you to both impact and be impacted by people and circumstances, as you follow your life’s track. God does have a plan for you to be a God-tracker, but it starts with getting on track with God’s purposes, through Christ. So, seek God first in life and his Word will become a lamp to your feet and a light to your path.

God-tracking is first, getting on track with God, through Christ.

Keep your eyes on Jesus

Don’t Give Up, Look Up!

From this point on, O God, help me remain on track with your will in life

Pray
“Dear God, I realise now that I have never totally surrendered my life to you. I confess that I have tried to follow my own instincts in making life choices rather than acknowledging you in everything I do. Please forgive me. I put my faith in the power of your Holy Spirit and the light of you Word to guide me every day. I repent of all sin and ask you to take your rightful place in my heart. I believe that Jesus died and rose again to free me from sin and death, and now confess Jesus to be my Lord and Saviour. From this point on, O God, help me remain on track with your will in life. Amen.”

If you prayed this prayer today, please let me know by email me at [email protected]

What is GodTracker?
GodTracker is a weekly e-mail devotional based on the premise that God has a plan for our lives. His word calls us to seek his will by acknowledging him in all our ways and tracking this plans in faith.

GodTracker owes its origins to an international Christian radio programme produced by Dudley Anderson called, On Track. Although On Track went off-air in 2005, GodTracker has continued to help people track God's plans and purposes for their lives since July 2003.
