A message on hell and being saved

A message on hell and being saved. 4-15-17

No body likes to talk about hell and neither do I. We have to be educated on it and know what the Bible says about it and how to avoid it. It is a very real place where there is real fire and real souls are burning in the fires every second. Jesus said in Matthew 26 verse 41 hell is ever lasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels. Man doesn't have to go there but he does because of his rebellion against God.

I want to share a true story that a pastor shared in one of his messages. There was this certain man who was a big man who stood 6 foot 6 weighing over 200 pounds and was an oil field worker. He had a wife who was a member of the pastor's church. The man wasn't saved, but his wife was and she tried to get him to get saved and accept Jesus as his Lord. One Sunday night, the man went to church with his wife. At the end of the service, the pastor asked the man; "Are you ready to get saved and accept Jesus as Lord and Savior?" He looked at the pastor and said; "No, I am not ready to get saved yet." Later on during the week, the pastor got a phone call from the hospital from the man's wife as she told him that there had been an oil field accident. The pastor arrived at the hospital and before he got to the man's room, he could here him screaming down the hall. The pastor got to his room and saw him shaking on the bed and grabbing the sheets and ripping them as he was sweating from great fear. He turned to the pastor and said; "I see it. The fires are right in front of me and I can feel the heat." He screamed; "PRAY PREACHER. PRAY. PRAY. PRAY." Then suddenly he stopped screaming, the man died. He believed in hell and saw it before he got there.

When I talk to people about death, they really don't like to talk about it. Why? Because most of them aren't ready to die. Those who are living in sin are not ready to die for death would be their worse enemy. People die every second. What happens to them when they die? They are either escorted by the angels into the presence of God and walk on streets of gold. Or they are escorted by the angels and dropped in the fires of hell screaming every second along with those who are there.

How long is eternity? Eternity has no end, just a beginning. It begins with your last breath on planet earth. Let's say I had a towel, a holy towel that would never grow old or wear out. Let's say I took that towel to the top of Mount Mckinney, the tallest mountain in America and swiped it over the top of that mountain one time every one thousand years. Just one swipe over the top of that mountain one time every one thousand years until that mountain was level with the sea, this isn't even the first second of eternity. The first second of eternity hasn't even yet started. Does this give you some kind of idea of how long eterity is? It is for ever and ever and ever. It is impossible for eternity to end.

There's an old saying that goes like this; "If you can't do the time, don't do the crime." That's true. If you can't spend eternity in the fires of hell, love God with every thing in you and obey Him totally and completey and do His will.

There was a preacher who took a young man out to a lake to baptise him. When they got to the lake, the preacher took the man out into waiste deep water and asked him to hold his breath and then the preacher dunked him under the water. The preacher kept him under the water for a little bit and the man began to struggle with the preacher to let him up and breathe but the preacher refused to let him up out of the water. The man began to fight with the preacher to let him come up out of that water to breathe and then the preacher gave into him and allowed him to come up to breathe. The preacher asked the man; "When you were under the water, what was the one thing you desire more than any thing in your life?" The man answered while breathing heavily; "The one thing I desired was to breathe in air more than any thing in life." When we desire to serve God more than any thing in our lives, our lives will be right with God and with Jesus. It will be Heaven on earth for us and we will be on our way to Heaven serving and praising God every day.

There's an old saying that goes like this; "Once saved, always saved." This is one of satan's biggest lies. Any one who is saved can always back slide and go in the wrong direction. I want to share a story about a man who I knew personally. We will call his name Roy to protect his real identity. I knew Roy for about 8 years and he was a Godly man all the time I knew him. Roy and I went to the same church and he was married and had a small flower business in that small town. Roy was always in church nearly every service and was an usher in the church. Roy was one of the nicest men you could ever meet. He always greeted me and every one else with a smile. He loved God and loved his wife. One day I can remember when I went to see him at his flower store and he was working on some flowers. I asked him for a few bucks to tie me over till pay day and he gave me more than what I asked for and told me that he did not want me to repay him.

I moved away from that small town and four years later I called one of his in laws and asked about him and the rest of the family. What I heard about Roy, I was in total shock. I was told that Roy had divorced his wife and moved to Arkansas and moved in with a gay man and turned gay. Roy also went to a gay bar and was into drinking. One night while Roy and his friend were out side of the bar, a fight broke out and a man pulled out a knife and stabbed Roy several times killing him on the spot. Roy lost his salvation and his soul.

There was a man from Dallas who had a wife and had a very good job in Dallas. This man was a church going man who attended church every time they had service. He was saved and was blessed also. The man and his wife attended this church for years and they were well known by the pastor and the members of that church. He paid his tighes and had his heart right with God and was saved. This man was the type of man who you didn't think would ever change but sadly some people do. One day, the man suddenly changed. He stopped going to church, he stopped tighing and back slid. He started going to a bar and living it up. A few weeks later after he had back slidden, he lost his job. He got back in church and got his heart right with God, repented of his sins and tighed again like he used to. He found another job but not as good as the one he had.

The man went to church for several months. Then a sudden change happened to him and he changed again. He got out of church, quit tighing, back slid and hit the bars again. A few weeks after he had back slidden again, his wife came down very sick and had to be hospitalized. The man came to his senses and got right with God, repented of his sins and got back in church and began to tighe again. His wife got out of the hospital and came home and in time got well. After going to church for a few months, some thing came over the man again. He got out of church, quit tighing, back slid and hit the bars again. One Friday night on a busy Dallas freeway and intoxicated, the man had a car wreck. He was pronounced dead at the scene. This man who was saved lost his salvation one time to many and paid for it with his life and his eternal soul. The man's pastor said that the man back slid to hell.

Don't tell me once saved always saved. Roy was a saved man at one time. He died at a bar in a gay life style. Where is his soul now? He is burning in the fires of hell. What about the Dallas man who was saved and back slid? He too is in hell. I have heard people say some thing so many times till it makes me sick of hearing it and it goes like this; "God is so loving and so wonderful. How can a loving God send a soul to hell?" Yes God is so loving and so wonderful. Let me ask this; "How could any one refuse to obey God and miss Heaven?" How many people has God sent to hell? I will tell you how many, not one soul, not one soul. People go to hell because they chose to disobey God and reject Jesus the Son of God as their Lord and Savior. God doesn't have different strokes for different folks. Every soul alive and dead will be judged by God and by what His Holy Word says. If God said it, regardless if you believe it or not, that settles it. God means exactly what He said and will not change His mind for no man or no woman regardless who or what they are or were.

If you are not saved and want to be saved, go to God now and repent of all sins, ask Jesus to come into your heart and life now and be your Lord and Savior, follow Jesus and serve God from this moment on and God will bless you. God bless you.
