Life and Legacy of Tuck Roberts

by PamFord Davis
7/10/2017 / Death

He poured out his life in service to his Savior and Lord, Jesus Christ.

Words penned by Paul serve as a fitting tribute to the life and legacy of Reverend ‘Tuck’ Roberts…

“For I am already being poured out as a drink offering, and the time of my departure is at hand. I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith. Finally, there is laid up for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will give to me on that Day, and not to me only but also to all who have loved His appearing (2 Timothy 4:6-8 NKJV).”

The preceding scripture passage has been used in countless funeral services. Yet, the words so aptly describe godly men and women that surrendered their lives to Christ and answered the call to full time ministry. They truly fought evil in their midst; keeping their eyes on Jesus, they finished the marathon race and kept the faith.

With His everlasting love, God prepares crowns of righteousness…

‘Will There Be Any Stars’

Eliza E. Hewitt (1897/Public Domain)

  1. I am thinking today of that beautiful land
    I shall reach when the sun goeth down;
    When through wonderful grace by my Savior I stand,
    Will there be any stars in my crown?
    • Refrain:
      Will there be any stars, any stars in my crown,
      When at evening the sun goeth down?
      When I wake with the blest in the mansions of rest,
      Will there be any stars in my crown?
  2. In the strength of the Lord let me labor and pray,
    Let me watch as a winner of souls;
    That bright stars may be mine in the glorious day,
    When His praise like the sea-billow rolls.
  3. Oh, what joy it will be when His face I behold,
    Living gems at His feet to lay down;
    It would sweeten my bliss in the city of gold,
    Should there be any stars in my crown.
