PART 3- B -THE GREATEST OF ALL ROMANCES, YOUR POTTERS CALL HIS MERCY AND THE CROWNS

by Henrietta Newton Martin
8/04/2017 / Christian Living

In His Mercy, He has kept our Crowns ready, for His righteous children who call Him Father, to whom we belong to .The entire creation shall witness, that we are taken up as His sons and daughters, on that great day.

“Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us” Hebrews 12:1.

As a reiteration (w.r.t Part 3A), the Crowns that is designed for every believer who runs his race is as follows:

  1. The Crown Incorruptible , 1 Corinthians 9:25 ( for winning the race we are called as a believer of Christ and sons and daughters of the most High God Yahweh) ( elaborated in Part 3 A)

  1. The Crown of Rejoicing. 1 Thessalonians 2:19 (for being a soul winner) or also called as the ‘Soul winner’s crown.

What you have gained from the Lord, should be shared with others. Have you received mercy? Then show mercy. Have you received healing from the Lord? Then speak about His healing grace. Have you been delivered from any bondage? Then share it with those around you. True blessing, is in sharing, what you have received it with others.

The scripture says in Luke 15:10, "In the same way, I tell you, there is joy in the presence of the angels of God over one sinner who repents.” The Lord rejoices when a person repents and clings back to Him. Blessed is the person who turns a man back to His Master’s love, the love of our Lord Jesus Christ. Those who are wise will shine like the brightness of the heavens, and those who lead many to righteousness, like the stars for ever and ever.” Daniel 12:3

Sharing His love, His mercy, His message should all be done without selfish ambition, without conceit and pride. What do we have to boast of? We are of Christ, what we gained is from Him, if we lose, we lose to Him, but still win because He has won it all. It is better to be lost in Him who loved us first. And as Paul says in the epistles, "Let the one who boasts, boast in the Lord.”1 Corinthians 1:31

So then, let us run this race, in His mercy, for His glory and speak the good news with boldness and share the joy we received with others, and the Crown of Rejoicing awaits to adorn our glorified selves when we meet our Lord and Savior.

  1. The Crown of Life James 1:12 (for standing through trials and not yielding to temptation). Our life itself is a test. We undergo various trials, tests and temptations, we try our best to endure looking at the finishing line and the Prize that is beyond. A crown awaits for us all, when we persevere, survive the onslaught of the enemy, ride against the wind and remain faithful till the end. Revelation 2:10-11 “Do not be afraid of what you are about to suffer. I tell you, the devil will put some of you in prison to test you, and you will suffer persecution for ten days. Be faithful, even to the point of death, and I will give you, life, as your victor’s crown. Whoever has ears, let them hear what the Spirit says to the churches? The one who is victorious will not be hurt at all by the second death.” This is the promise of eternal life.
  2. The Crown of Righteousness, 2 Timothy 4:8(given to all those who anticipate the coming of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.) “Now there is in store for me the crown of righteousness, which the Lord, the righteous Judge, will award to me on that day--and not only to me, but also to all who have longed for his appearing.”2 Timothy 4:8

This Crown is bestowed upon a believer, not because he is or he gains the title as “righteous”, but because Our Lord, He Himself is righteous, He alone is righteous and there is none like Him. The one who believes in that precious sacrifice at that Cross of Calvary, and rejoices in the power of that precious Blood of Yeshua Mashiach , Our Lord Jesus Christ, to him righteousness is attributed. Righteousness is attributed to those who have faith in that Blood Covenant of our Lord Jesus Christ, His life, His death, resurrection and that He is coming again.

  1. The Crown of Glory , 1 Peter 5:1;4 (to be good shepherds of God’s flock, so that when the Chief Shepherd , our Lord Jesus Christ appears he will reward us the Crown of Glory. This is also given to those who support the Body of Christ, His church). It is not enough to be just called as a Minister of Christ, or gaining a title, or a officiated position as a Minister of Christ, or the like., But it is in discharging of duties in the way He has called us to discharge. Though every believer has been called to be His under-shepherd with our Master Yeshua as the Chief Shepherd, we must able to discharge the duties and responsibilities as He has called us to. To feed His flock with His Word., tending His flock, and serving as an example. This is a difficult task but not impossible with the Holy Spirit who helps us in our work for Him, and in Him. This is that Crown of Glory which never fades away.

  1. The Other Crowns

The Lord says “I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, so that no one will take your crown.” Rev 3:11

“The Lord bestows us with Crown of beauty instead of ashes” Isiah 61:3

You, yourself will be made as a royal diadem, a crown of splendor in His hands. Isiah 62:3, in the Hands of your God. He will set you high

So let us keep our eyes fixed on Him, and run the race set before us, to win and earn that, which is imperishable and that, which does not fade away. For the riches that we store in heaven as the scriptures say, and the Lord Himself has taught us, are not subject to rot, or decay. Our Master encourages us to store up riches in heaven, Paul exhorts us in his epistles to run the race with endurance to win the prize, not thinking of what lies behind us, but of what is ahead of us. Hebrews 1:12 , Philippians 3:13-14.

The victories we win on this earth are recorded yet forgotten, but the reward that we have in heaven is greater than any of these hollow honor. I remember the day I had a vision several years back, while I was pursuing my second degree in Laws. In that vision I saw the Lord’s angel show me a gleaming huge trophy. I told my God in prayer, Lord this is not what Iam seeking, Iam working towards  gaining the first rank in the university for which  gold medals are awarded , not trophies. I explained in my prayer to the Lord, in my innocence, of how a gold medal looks like, fastened with a colored satin ribbon around it. Thinking back , about this, how foolish of me to explain to the King of Kings , The Lord of Lords, the Creator and Master of the entire creation and all that is in it, of how a gold medal looks like. After this explanation to Him, the vision vanished. Exactly two days after that, my law college lecturers informed me that I was nominated for the ‘Best All Rounder Student’ and I was awarded the same on the third day of the vision, at the  annual award function of that year. I also went on to grab the ‘Best Student Advocate ‘trophy. The Lord is faithful. The Lord made me top as a First State Ranker and awarded me Gold medals as well. However, years have passed, the trophy story is forgotten, I have forgotten the episode, and so have my parents, my husband has no much clue about it, and it was not necessary to tell my colleagues about it. The college must have forgotten as well, and my name must be written only in their records gathering dust. Such are the trophies and recognition of this world.

This brings us to an understanding, of how much more of value or priceless are the awards that await us in heaven. The Lord desires to bless us, He desires to award us, He desires to crown us, and He desires to fill us. But, as the scriptures say “Behold, the Lord’s hand is not so short that it cannot save; nor is His ear so dull that it cannot hear. But your iniquities have made a separation between you and your God, and your sins have hidden His face from you so that He does not hear.” Isiah 59:1-2. We have the blessed assurance that the Blood of Jesus has redeemed us from every curse and sin in our life; but it has to be borne in mind that a complacent attitude will only lead to destruction and losing sight of the goal as well as the rewards in store for us.

How blessed is that opportune moment, when our Lord and our God says “Welcome in, my good and faithful servant” and then your soul would whisper with glee,”Here Iam”. He has called us His friends, and not servants any longer, said He. And as His friends He has revealed the secrets to His Kingdom in His Word. How can one know the secrets , if they do not read His Word? And how can the secrets be explained, if His people are not sent forth to explain to the ignorant?

What do you think, the Lord will say, when He sees you? “Welcome in ….” Or “I never knew you….”?

I bear in mind, this question, and urge you, to get ready, for your King is ready to appear as your bridegroom, ready to appear and take you to His Kingdom.

We have to prepare ourselves, and run this race, not relying on our own efforts but in His Spirit, which is unleashed upon us in His mercy. For those who ask will receive, the scriptures says, and the Lord said “if your earthly father knows how to give good things to his children. How much more will our Heavenly Father give to those who ask Him for the Holy Spirit (Luke 11:13).

Yes, nothing can move without His Spirit. Nothing works without His Spirit, His mercy.

Self-righteousness would be a barrier in this race. The wise, press on towards that heavenly call, knowing that they are weak vessels, drawing their strength from their God and seeking His Spirit. The humble shall be exalted , says the scriptures.

How prized is that ineffable day, when we shall unite with our Master Yeshua, the lover of our soul, and in whom our soul rejoices. When that day comes, He shall crown us, and at His appointed time, we shall also worship Him and lay our crowns before Him, to live and reign with him forever and ever.
