Relationship

Consider the word relationship. I recall a Sunday school ‘Growth Spiral’ seminar. The classes were conducted in age groupings; at the time, I was teaching a college & career single adult’s class. To my surprise (and the instructor’s) I was the only attendee. The primary focus: relationship.

I value relationships above everything else.

My personal relationship with Christ Jesus is my first priority.

My family and friends complete the list.

A definition included in Webster’s New World Dictionary (1971) edition; relation: ‘connection’

We expect good connections in our high tech society. Many lose patience when they have less than 3 bars on their cell phones or experience dropped calls.

Do I neglect to connect, to call upon the LORD?

He has a listening ear...

“Because He has inclined His ear to me,
Therefore I will call upon Him as long as I live (Psalm 116:2 NKJV).”

He is not out of range.

“You are near, O Lord,
And all Your commandments are truth (Psalm 119:151 NKJV).”

Truth and trust make the perfect connection. I place my trust in Jesus; He is true to His promises. We are connected through a never-ending relationship.

“Abide in Me, and I in you. As the branch cannot bear fruit of itself, unless it abides in the vine, neither can you, unless you abide in Me.

‘I am the vine, you are the branches. He who abides in Me, and I in him, bears much fruit; for without Me you can do nothing (John 15:4-5 NKJV).”
