Where Are You Heading?
We've all heard the expression "It's a phase." Usually people mean well when they tell us this, but it doesn't always help when your heart is hurting as a parent. It's hard to watch your teenager be disrespectful or rebellious. It's tough to see your child be willful or uncaring. Maybe you are dealing with a son or daughter who is different and others ridicule them.
Whatever "phase" you may be in, I want to encourage you that God is leading you through it for a reason. God is taking you in a certain direction. He wants to guide you and take you "from" that challenging something so He can lead you "to" something else. And only He knows what it is. But be encouraged with the knowledge that God has a plan in mind for what you are going through.
Sometimes it takes great pain and a little hindsight to see the blessings that can come from our "phases" in life. Maybe it is us, who God intends to work on through these times, or maybe it's our child or spouse. Whomever it is, the reward for our faithful heart will be more than worth it when God finally brings us "from" that challenge into the "to" of a blessing.
Stay the course. Pray and don't lose faith even when you don't understand God's reasoning at times. If you promise to believe in His heart He will never abandon you. Let Him guide you to the other side of His plan.
Your trip will be more than worth the cost you paid for the journey.
