Excitable Expectations

by Steve Countryman
9/07/2018 / Christian Living

It has to do with your perspective. As a Christian, how do you view your daily life? Are you tied up with the daily trappings of living, worried, fretting and living in fear? Do you have to look up just to see bottom? The daily grind can be daunting at times. Troubles, cares, illness, financial problems and relationships demand your time and attention.

Living that way can rob you of living the life God has for you! The enemy wants your attention off of God and all of it on your problems. The more time you spend worrying the less time you spend with God. You miss out on being the blessing that you were chosen to be.

God didn’t choose you before time began to spend your time worrying and panicking. Matthew 6:25 “Therefore I tell you, do not worry about your life, what you will eat or drink; or about your body, what you will wear. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothes? Matthew 11:28-30 28 “Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. 29 Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. 30 For my yoke is easy and my burden is light.”

As a Christian you are expected to be witnesses for Christ. Witnessing and sharing with others ALL of the wonderful things that God has done in your life. It is a privilege to be a witness for Christ. For you will witness and see God’s power at work in you, through you and around you. Witnessing God’s mighty hand answering prayer and fulfilling His promises!

Time to change your view to a heavenly perspective. It is easy to look around and “see” the bad things, evil things and wicked things going on. Just like watching TV with all of those fear-laden commercials. One tells you that if you don’t by their product you could be putting you or your family at risk. Another one tells you by taking their drugs you will live a better life. Then the next commercial is from a lawyer firm warning you about the side effects that can kill you. I love my MUTE button and use it often!

Its time to replace fear with faith and replace doubt with expectation! Your prayers will change from panic to excitement as you wait in excitable expectation. Prayers that declare and celebrate God’s love adds faith to your perspective instead of adding worry to fear.

Changing your heavenly perspective by adding praise and thanksgiving to God for answering ALL of your prayers. Including those not yet manifested. How awesome your prayers will be as your excitable expectations of God increases.   Your fear and panic will disappear as your faith grows in the One who is willing and able. AMEN!
