Refuge and Respite

Sickness… it may be a simple case of sniffles or a terminal disease.

I don’t like being sick. On the positive side, it helps me appreciate feeling well. The old saying rings true that ‘you don’t know what you’ve got till you lose it.’ It seems that almost everyone I know is dealing with some kind of health issue. Illness is no respecter of persons.

Sickness and disease effect life from within the womb to the death bed.

I pray for the infirmed.

We need not fear. God is able to turn infirmaries into worship centers.

“And He said to me, ‘My grace is sufficient for you, for My strength is made perfect in weakness.’ Therefore most gladly I will rather boast in my infirmities, that the power of Christ may rest upon me. Therefore I take pleasure in infirmities, in reproaches, in needs, in persecutions, in distresses, for Christ’s sake. For when I am weak, then I am strong (2 Corinthians 12:9-10 NKJV).”

Believe me; I’m no tower of strength. The LORD is the unshakable tower, our refuge and respite.

“God is our refuge and strength,
A very present help in trouble.
Therefore we will not fear,
Even though the earth be removed,
And though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;
Though its waters roar and be troubled,
Though the mountains shake with its swelling. Selah (Psalm 46:1-3 NKJV).”

We discover testimonies in troubles. 

“Daughter, your faith has made you well. Go in peace, and be healed of your affliction (Mark 5:34b NKJV).”
