WAITING PATIENTLY ON THE DIVINE

by ONOME OGBAJIBREDE
3/13/2019 / Devotionals

Scriptural Reading: Romans 12:11-14

But if we hope for that we see not, then do we with patience wait for it. Romans 8:25 (KJV)

Patience is a key virtue that all humankind needs to possess. It is a tool for restraint that keeps an individual from acting otherwise. In Galatians 5:22, Patience was also adjudged to be a fruit of the spirit. When an individual is patient, such an individual can hardly offend God and will steadily build up hope and faith in God.

Our scriptural reading where we took our text from in the book of Romans 12:11-14, we are the people of God and we will not have to be lazy in whatever we do especially in the area of serving God and we have to be patient with God always. This is a cord that binds us together with God who will always regard our helpless estate. When we face difficult moments, we have to see God as our anchor and be ready to be hospitable and not retaliate when we are offended.

God is a great and patient father with all humankind. He has not dealt with us according to our sins otherwise He would have long destroyed the whole world as a result of various offences. He is patient with us, He wants us to be patient with Him and with others as well. We have to tolerate one another. This way we can live at peace with one another so that we can make it to Heaven.

Have we been looking for the blessings of the fruit of the womb, or we are troubled with our present state? Others are making it and we are not making it? God is still in the business of doing good and He will definitely look to our direction, no matter the delay. As the pregnant woman is looking up to God for her delivery so God wants us to wait on Him patiently. This is an anchor scripture to feed on daily. ‘‘Rest in the Lord, and wait patiently for him: fret not thyself because of him who prospereth in his way, because of the man who bringeth wicked devices to pass.’’ Psalm 37:7 (KJV) God sees everyone and He knows us by name and He will make all things beautiful again in His time. Let us be patient with Him.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, instill in me the virtue of patience so that I will know how to wait on you patiently at all times. Amen

Patience is the only antidote to impatience and the horsewhip that drives away anxiety.
