PRAY FOR DIVINE PEACE

‘‘And seek the peace of the city whither I have caused you to be carried away captives, and pray unto the Lord for it: for in the peace thereof shall ye have peace.’’  Jeremiah 29:7 (KJV).

‘It is often said that the peace of the tree is the peace of the bird’. When a nation is at peace, its citizens will be at peace as well. War is a choice of action but peace is a better choice. Peace brings about progress and unity but when it is compromised, then chaos takes the centre stage.

Our Bible passage where we took our text from in Jeremiah 29:7 (KJV), God admonishes us to pray for the peace of our city. Once a city is at peace, our families will experience peace but when there is turbulence, we will feel the heat as well. When there is peace in our city, there will be peace in our LGA and there will be peace in our state and nation as well. See what the Psalmist said in Psalm 122:6 (KJV) ‘‘Pray for the peace of Jerusalem: they shall prosper that love thee.’’ Jerusalem represents our physical nation and we must continue to pray for the peace of our nation in order to experience prosperity in all facet.

God is a God of peace and hates violence and that is why He gave Jesus to us as the Prince of Peace in Isaiah 9:6. God wants us to constantly pray for the peace of our nation and when we do He will answer us. Every troubled spot of our nation let us bring them before God in prayer and He will restore peace to such dark dots absolutely.

Have you been praying for the peace of your nation? If you have not been doing that you can start today and see what Jesus has for us in store, John 14:27.

 

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, we pray for your divine peace in our nation and we call on you today, come and arrest all the entrepreneurs of violence in our land and let there be peace. Amen.
