Can you see me now?

No, this is not peek-a-boo; I’m thinking about face-to-face video chat. Thanks to modern technology, we’re now afforded the opportunity to see who we’re talking to. To some that may be an advantage.

On the other hand, they see us. That may make us uncomfortable.  I mean, who wants to be caught on camera close up when unprepared? If directing a Hollywood movie, this would be the perfect time to yell, ‘Cut!’ 

I’ll cut the clowning and get serious. As I write, I’m waiting for a phone call from a blind friend. A comforting thought crossed my mind. We’ll be on an equal playing field. I won’t be using a Smartphone. There will be no visual connection.

I will hear her; she will hear me. Isn’t that wonderful?

Jesus wants people to hear and see spiritually; He quoted Old Testament Scripture from the Book of Isaiah. 

“In their case the prophecy of Isaiah is being fulfilled, which says,

‘You will keep on hearing, but will not understand;
You will keep on seeing, but will not perceive;
For the heart of this people has become dull,
With their ears they scarcely hear,
And they have closed their eyes,
Otherwise they would see with their eyes,
Hear with their ears,
And understand with their heart and return,
And I would heal them (Matthew 13:14-15 NASB).”
