THE DIVINE HAND OF GOD

by ONOME OGBAJIBREDE
5/22/2019 / Devotionals

Scriptural Reading: Psalms 80:17-19

‘‘That all the people of the earth might know the hand of the Lord, that it is mighty: that ye might fear the Lord your God for ever.’’ Joshua 4:24 (KJV)

Many years ago at the Polytechnic, in the Department of Statistics, I used to have a course mate, name withheld. He was a jovial fellow who was not a timid type. After graduation from the Polytechnic, we all parted ways. My area of settlement became Abuja, Nigeria. One of the revelations God showed me about this brother was that at the Polytechnic, there was a funeral procession and the pictures of this brother were being flipped at. This was a symbol of death sentence on this brother. Immediately, I woke up, I was troubled, I had to call this brother and we booked an appointment to this effect and he was able to open up of how accident had been trailing him. We prayed and the divine hand of God rested on him and today, he is still alive. We bless God.

The Psalmist prayed for the divine hand of God to be upon humankind whom God has created for His glory. With the divine hand of God upon humankind, our safety is sure and His face will be upon us continually and we will be far from shame, sorrow, persecution and other evil matter.

God is a mighty God whose hand is mighty to save and nothing can weaken His hands. He wants us to always ask Him for His divine hand in all that we do and He will keep us safe and make all things possible for us.

Do we know that when we are in the hand of God, the hand of Satan cannot reach us? We can only experience the hand of God when we keep His commandments and begin to walk in holiness and righteousness. Here is an anchor scripture for God’s promises for us and we can hold on to this and apply it to our lives on a daily basis. John 10:28 (KJV)  ‘And I give unto them eternal life; and they shall never perish, neither shall any man pluck them out of my hand.’ The hand of God is a safe refuge and it is an open door to open Heavens.

Dear Lord Jesus, bear me and every member of my family safe in your hands and let every invisible hand in our lives be cut-off. Amen

The hand of God is safer than any buffer zone.
