Cold Feet

Cold feet?

Wearing socks helps.

Cold feet, as in wedding jitters?

Proceed with caution.

Me, I wear socks. They make me warmer and my husband happier. He hates it when I rub my cold feet against him in bed.

Can’t say as I blame him; I’d keep my distance too.

Cold hearted?

Don’t be cruel.

“Because lawlessness will multiply, the love of many will grow cold (Matthew 24:12 HCSB).”

Brr… I don’t want my love for the LORD (and others) to grow cold.

He fans the flames.

“It was as He reclined at the table with them that He took the bread, blessed and broke it, and gave it to them. Then their eyes were opened, and they recognized Him, but He disappeared from their sight. So they said to each other, ‘Weren’t our hearts ablaze within us while He was talking with us on the road and explaining the Scriptures to us (Luke 24: 30-32 HCSB)?”

Thermometers measure a person’s body temperature; Scriptures reveal the condition of our hearts. If a heart is cold and indifferent, God’s word means little-to-nothing to the reader. Yet, if our hearts have been touched by the Holy Spirit; we are warmed by His word.
