Open Your Mouth Wide And Enjoy Triumph And Blessings

by Ngozi Nwoke

How much power of your mouth are you enjoying? Life and death are in the power of the tongue and you will eat the fruit of it (Proverbs 18:21). Understanding the power that lies with your mouth will deliver you from troubles and release your blessings to you. This article encourages you to effectively use your mouth for your good, open your mouth wide and say what you ought to say to enjoy triumph and blessings.

I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; open your mouth wide, and I will fill it. But My people would not heed My voice, and Israel would have none of Me. So I gave them over to their own stubborn heart, to walk in their own counsels. Oh, that My people would listen to Me, that Israel would walk in My ways! I would soon subdue their enemies, and turn My hand against their adversaries...He would have fed them also with the finest of wheat; and with honey from the rock I would have satisfied you - Psalm 81:10-16 (NKJV, emphasis mine).

God, the only wise One, gave the children of Israel a wisdom word for their triumph and blessings, but they rejected it. They chose to walk in their own counsels and not the Lord's way. This led to them being in want and subjected to defeat by their enemies.  What was the wisdom word from God? God said, "Open your mouth wide and I will fill it." God is saying the same today to you.

To shut your mouth is to shut down your future or develop a stunted life. Your mouth determines what comes to you on daily basis. The words you speak are seeds that will germinate to produce fruits (Proverbs 12:14). Bad seeds will produce bad fruits and good seeds will produce good fruits. When you are generous with planting good seeds, you will get bountiful harvest of good fruits and vice versa, so also, when you are generous with speaking the right words, you will have bountiful harvest of victories and blessings.

The scripture in Mark 11:23 says that you shall have what you say. Therefore it is wisdom to be careful of what you say, because that is what you will have. The products of your today are largely results of what you said yesterday or yesteryear, and your tomorrow will be determined largely by the things you say today. Therefore, you orchestrate your future by the words of your mouth. This also means that negative circumstances around you can turn out for your good or be changed by the words of your mouth.

What are you to say?

The Lord said, "Open your mouth wide and I will fill it." God intends to fill your mouth with His own words. God's words are creative and all He created by His words were found to be very good, and they are still in-tact. The world was founded and maintained by God's word. Therefore, for you to get the best from her you are to ensure that when you open your mouth to speak, you say nothing contrary to the word of God. As such, you engage the Lord to subdue your enemies and satisfy you with good things.

Search out the scriptures concerning the things you desire to see in your life, and on daily basis declare them personalizing them. As you keep saying them, soon you will see them manifesting physically, for you will have what you say.

Joseph kept declaring what God showed him in his dreams. His brothers called him dreamer and even tried to terminate him so as to kill the dream. Interestingly, they only helped in fulfilling what he was declaring to them (Genesis 37, 42:6-9).

Open your mouth wide

Don't be ashamed to declare God's word no matter who is before you. Remember, it's not anybody's future but yours. Secure your tomorrow by boldly saying what the word of the Lord says in any situation. For instance, if everyone is declaring woes over their lives because of the economy, don't say what they are saying (Isaiah 8:12) just so you don't sound different. Declare that your case is different because the Lord shall supply all your needs according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Also, if someone says something contrary to God's word concerning you, don't close your mouth; rather quickly counter it by saying what the word of God says concerning that issue. No one should be allowed to chart a wrong course for your life.

In conclusion, your mouth is the gateway to your triumph and blessings in life. Use it well and engage God to perfect all that concerns you. So start now!
