Rocks, Stones, Pebbles and Boulders Hold Convention to Praise the Lord

As soon as all the rocks of the world gained the ability to communicate, they immediately decided to hold a convention in Jerusalem, Israel for the purpose of giving praise and glory to the Creator of the Universe.

Globally, rocks of varying shapes and sizes had begun reciting Psalm 150. “Praise ye the Lord. Praise God in his sanctuary: praise him in the firmament of his power. Praise him for his mighty acts: praise him according to his excellent greatness. Praise him with the sound of the trumpet: praise him with the psaltery and harp. Praise him with the timbrel and dance: praise him with stringed instruments and organs. Praise him upon the loud cymbals: praise him upon the high sounding cymbals. Let every thing that hath breath praise the Lord. Praise ye the Lord.”

Convention delegates included representatives of the host nation (Israel), Italy, and Colorado, USA…all proclaiming the goodness, greatness and graciousness of God. None of them could explain the phenomenon. “I don’t understand it!” declared Rockie, who resided in Boulder. “I’ve always wanted to praise the Lord, but until this morning I’ve never been able to do so.”

“I know exactly what you’re talking about,” sighed Pebble, who was from Pebble Beach, Fla. “I recently overheard an elderly man quoting from Luke chapter 19 in his Bible, “And when he was come nigh, even now at the descent of the mount of Olives, the whole multitude of the disciples began to rejoice and praise God with a loud voice for all the mighty works that they had seen; Saying, Blessed be the King that cometh in the name of the Lord: peace in heaven, and glory in the highest. And some of the Pharisees from among the multitude said unto him, Master, rebuke thy disciples. And he answered and said unto them, I tell you that, if these should hold their peace, the stones would immediately cry out.”

Stonie, a native of Italy, replied, “Until now, there hasn’t been a need for us rocks to praise the Lord, because mankind, the gem of God’s creation, praised Him well enough so that we didn’t need to praise the Lord. That’s the job of the men and women of this world.”

“That’s right,” affirmed Rockie. “But mankind has chosen to be his own boss, and he’s decided he doesn’t need a savior. So now, God has allowed us to come alive and to put together a rock-and-stone band to praise His wonderful name.”

“Do you know where that’s going to leave man?” asked Rockie.

“I sure do,” chuckled Stonie. “Between a rock and a hard place!”
