It Doesn't Have To Happen The Way You Want It

Do you think that your faith is not working or God is not answering your prayers because your prayers have not yet been answered? Don't be dismayed, the Lord is watching His word to fulfil it in your life (Jeremiah 1:12). However, you must know that it doesn't have to happen the way you want it. This article explains more on this truth.

For My thoughts are not your thoughts, nor are your ways My ways," says the Lord. For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are My ways higher than your ways, and My thoughts than your thoughts - Isaiah 55:8-9 (NKJV).

For ye have need of patience, that, after ye have done the will of God, ye might receive the promise - Hebrews 10:36 (KJV).

Many times Christians expect their lives to be 1 + 1 = 2. They expect that when they have followed the instructions of God that God will answer them immediately as they want. However, it doesn't always work like that. God knows the best things for you and will always do or give them to you if you will trust Him. You need to exercise patience when you have done the will of God to receive your heart desire (Hebrews 10:36).

God's thoughts and ways are higher than your thoughts and ways (Isaiah 55:8-9). He is the Alpha and the Omega and so knows the end from the very beginning (Isaiah 46:10). He knows your future and the things you need and when you need them to be able to fulfill your destiny. Trust the Almighty Father. Waiting on Him will always culminate in higher glory.

In Daniel 3, the three Hebrew boys trusted God to save them but they didn't know how He was going to do it. They still held on to their faith and declaration even when they were carried to be thrown into the fire. However, God was waiting for them in the furnace. At the end, the name of God was highly glorified and the three Hebrews boys were promoted.

The Lord will not give you what will not be beneficial to you or what will derail your path from your destiny. Silver is a precious stone, but Gold is more valuable than it. God would prefer to give you gold at the appropriate time than to give you silver now and then you miss the gold later.

Parents don't give their children whatever they want, or any time they want them. To do so is to destroy the child's future or kill the child. For example, no parent will give his or her six-year-old child the key to the car to go and drive. To do so is to prepare for the child's burial. The Lord won't want to welcome you home before your time. There is time for everything (Ecclesiastes 3:1).

When the Israelites left Egypt for the promise land, God chose to lead them through the wilderness, though going through the land of the Philistines was nearer, because He didn't want them to change their minds and return to Egypt should they see war (Exodus 13:17). He is the only wise God.

As we are different so our destinies are different and our seasons are different. Your focus should be to be where you should be when you should be there; to have what you ought to have when you ought to have it. This is possible only when you obey God fully and trust Him to lead and guide you all the way. God will never mismanage your life.

Joseph had a promise of dominion over his life from God, but he had to go through the pit, potiphar's house, and then prison before it became a reality. However, all through the journey he didn't give up on the Lord. He trusted Him to fulfil His word to him and the Lord fulfilled it. (Genesis 37, 39-42:9).

Don't compare yourself with others; it is not wisdom to do so (2 Corinthians 10:12). There are many stars shinning up in the sky, none is stopping the other from shining. Everyone has a glorious destiny and that includes you; therefore focus on fulfilling your own destiny. When you do you will have success, fame, prosperity and all that go along with fulfillment of destiny. Don't run on another person's track, so that you will not be disqualified.

In conclusion, if you have done the will of God, have patience, trust God to do what He had said concerning you and you will soon have your heart desires. Nevertheless, never forget that it doesn't have to happen the way you want it. God knows what is best for you and how best to get it to you.
