How to Put Enemy on the Run With Previous Testimonies

by Ngozi Nwoke
12/17/2019 / Christian Living

Are you still challenged in any way, but has some earlier testimonies? If so, this is the time to engage the weapon of testimonies to put the enemy on the run. Every arrow of testimony sends the devil farther away from you. This article encourages you to launch an attack against the enemy by counting your blessings and also shows you how.

And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony, and they did not love their lives to the death - Revelations 12:11 (NKJV).

Bless the Lord, O my soul; and all that is within me, bless His holy name! Bless the Lord, O my soul, and forget not all His benefits: Who forgives all your iniquities, Who heals all your diseases, Who redeems your life from destruction, Who crowns you with loving-kindness and tender mercies, Who satisfies your mouth with good things, so that your youth is renewed like the eagle's - Psalm 103:1-5 (NKJV).

No matter the challenges confronting you, you can turn it around in your favour by counting your blessings. This is because your catalogue of testimonies has the power to generate more testimonies, silence and overcome the devil (Revelations 12:11).

Why Count Your Blessings

1. It wells up a heart full of thanksgiving.

Recounting what the Lord has done for you opens your mind to God's faithfulness, love, mercy and power. This provokes thanksgiving and glorification unto God from the depth of your heart. And a heart full of thanksgiving grants you access to the Lord's presence (Psalm 100:4), resulting in answered prayers (Psalm 16:11).

2. It commonizes the challenge

Recounting your testimonies enlarges God before you and decreases the challenge. This builds your confidence in the Lord and makes you to see Him as being bigger than your problems. Also, it dissolves any form of anxiety, fear or doubt, thereby making you see that challenge as what God will solve like other times.

3. Builds up your faith

Your faith increases as you remember all the Lord had done for you previously. This causes you to believe that God who gave you earlier blessings will yet give you more blessings, challenges notwithstanding.

How To Count Your Blessings

1. Cast your mind back

Effective recounting of your blessings demands that you cast your mind back to days and years gone by. You need to consciously and purposefully go back to the past to fish out the things God had done for you. Psalm 103:1-5 give us an idea of what to recount.

2. Ask for the help of the Holy Spirit

The Holy Spirit carries out God's will on earth. So, every blessing that God sends your way is through the Holy Spirit. Therefore, He can help you remember your earlier testimonies.

3. Write them down

Writing down the blessings that have come your way shows you how much God has done for you as against yet undone ones. Also, a hard copy of your testimonies helps you not to forget them; you can always make reference to it.

4. Read them out aloud

The spiritual realm hears you as you read out your testimonies. The testimonies overcome the enemy when he hears them (Revelations 12:11), and God is blessed by your acknowledgement of the blessings. Furthermore, your faith increases in the process.Â

5. Thank God for every single one of them

The last thing to do is to thank God for every one of the blessings. This will provoke the Lord's intervention and perfection of what concerns you. For instance, when the leper returned to give thanks to the Lord, Christ made him perfectly whole. When Christ steps into your case, the enemy goes on the run.

Goliath's Head Came Down

When David faced the challenge of defeating Goliath, he first recounted how God helped him to defeat animals that were stronger and more dangerous than Goliath. This brought glory unto the Lord and built up his confidence in God. He was sure that the Father who helped him to defeat those animals would help him defeat Goliath. As a result, he brought down Goliath's head with only a sling and a stone (1 Samuel 17).

Conclusion

No matter how big the challenge before you may be now, you can surmount it by counting your blessings and naming them one by one. There is nothing too big for our big God. Bless the Lord with your testimonies and He will put your enemy on the run.Â
