Vision of Love

"Behold, what manner of love the Father hath bestowed upon us, that we should be called the sons of God: therefore the world knoweth us not, because it knew him not (I John 3:1 KJV)."

May 28, 2006--As usual, Clayton and I met to pray this morning with the warriors at church. While our worship team practiced in the background to spirit-stirring songs, the Lord gave me a wonderful vision: I was in the throne room of God, and there sat His Majesty on the throne, with the Lord Jesus Christ at His right hand.

The thrones were encircled with a rainbow, and there were angels everywhere, some standing and worshipping, some flying around His head. I was clothed in white garments, crawling at first, bowing before the throne of the awesome God.

Then I was lifted up and into the open arms and lap of my loving Father! He drew me to His bosom and held me tight, enfolding me in His garments of light. I was completely hidden in Him.

Immediately after--I know not how--I was not in His arms any longer. He had given me many crowns, and somehow I gave them to Jesus – not throwing them and not handing them to Him, but presenting them to Him; and He, the King of Glory, the Righteousness of God, accepted them.

I saw His glorious smile.

He looked into my eyes and held out His hand, and pointed to His palm. “See?” He said. “I have engraved you in the palm of My hand.”

There, glistening in red cursive, was my name--literally cut into!--the palm of the Master's hand!

After that, Jesus lifted me up and into His arms, and pulled me to Himself as His Father had, and lovingly embraced me. Again, I was so close to Him that I seemed to melt into Him--to fuse with Him and become one.

My Savior and I exulted together and the peace and joy I felt were almost inexpressible, so deep!

In all of this, I could only think, WOW! Even the angels, as pure and completely devoted as they are, have not, cannot, could never experience this! For this is the love of a Savior for the one on whom He has had mercy; this is the eternal, perfect, agape love of a Father for His child.

Prayer: Father in Heaven, we ask that You impart to us today a deeper understanding of Your love for us; that You help us know that You delight in us because we hope in You and fear You; that nothing can separate us from Your love; that You do, indeed, have us engraved in the palms of Your hands – the hands of the Lord Jesus Christ. And we ask this and thank You for it in Jesus’ name. Amen.

To think about: Perfect love casts out fear, says the Word. God is Perfect Love. Fear can take many disguises. Are you fearing anything today? Ask God to reveal where fear might have invaded your life, even quietly, and ask Him to replace that ungodly fear with deeper understanding of His eternal, sacrificial, unchanging Love for you!
