New Apparel for You in This New Season

by Tonja Taylor
1/09/2020 / Christian Living

I woke early to spend time in the Word. My stomach grumbled, but I ignored it. I wanted to press in to God.

After about 30 minutes of meditating and praying and being thankful, the thought came that I should sow some clothing, such as the “lamb’s wool” vest I’d recently bought; my soft blue warm up jacket; a faux flannel burgundy shirt; and a long green-blue terry cloth robe.

The robe was the hardest; it took me a couple minutes to agree. I reasoned in my mind that it just fit, I liked it, and it was about to be colder and I’d need it more.

I felt the gentle insistence of my Father that others needed this clothing, and that, although especially the robe fit just right and was comfortable and pleasant to me, He has new garments for this new Season—and that I’ll like them even better.

Then I remembered that I had originally bought the robe for my mother years ago. She had not really cared for it that much and had given it back to me. I’d been surprised to get it back and had used it only a few times the past few winters.

Although I could have been content and comfortable in it, it was time to pass it on. I also declared out loud and to my husband, who asked me if I was sure I wanted to sow all these things, that some of the Anointing in me would come off on those who wore them next.

(As I’ve learned, God is no respecter of persons, and if the Anointing in Paul and other ministers could come into cloth and minister to people (Acts 19:11-12), then the Anointing (the Spirit of God in and upon a person, especially flowing from the baptism of the Holy Spirit) that had soaked into the clothing when I wore it would minister to the people who wore it next. Amen!)

This is a new season and, as Zachariah 3:4 says, And He spoke to those who stood before Him, saying, ‘Take away the filthy garments from him.’ And He said to [Joshua], ‘Behold, I have caused your iniquity to pass from you, and I will clothe you with rich apparel.’”

To me, “rich apparel” means the Robe of Righteousness (Isaiah 61:10), and more, which—because our Father God is so good and generous—includes material clothing! When we give, we receive, so I look forward to the new material apparel coming my way.

Even more, to me, is a higher level of Anointing—power of God—to affect positive change in this world by expanding the Kingdom of God!

Tonja and her husband live to exalt God. They lift Him up in books (P.O.W.E.R. Girl!; LEGACY; Visions of the King; Your Holy Health; more); presentations; service in church, community, and the world; and via the "River Rain Creative" (309 videos) and "POWERLight Learning" You Tube channels.
