The Devil in a Christian School
by Tonja Taylor
1/17/2020 / Entertainment
My daughter, who loves righteousness and hates wickedness, was offended that the seniors drew dragons for the art contest. Although she was 11, she could not understand why they would want to glorify the enemy.
She asked me, "Do I have to draw dragons when I get up in that grade?"
I told her there should be a choice. I'm sure there are other pictures just as complex that the teacher would allow her to draw.
Meanwhile, I started binding wrong spirits. In this Christian school, there should be something much better to draw than to glorify a symbol of the evil one! I was pretty surprised about it.
Then, in a "chance" meeting with my daughter's Latin teacher, I happened to mention that I'd had to call the public school my daughter had gone to before this Christian school, to make sure harry potter books were not on the shelves, and especially not being read to my daughter.
"Actually..." started the teacher, and I saw it coming. Her heart had already turned to favor that mess. "I'm reading a book," she said, "called 'the Case for harry potter," written by a Christian man, a father who homeschools his 7 children. He was against it at first then started reading it. Now he commands his children to read it."
She seemed quite confident about it. The enemy is an arrogant cuss. And, as my pastor says, when people are deceived, they don't know they are deceived. This is obviously what was happening here!
Anyway, I just looked her in the eye and said, "God expressly forbids magic in the Scriptures."
"Yes, but..." she said. I forget what it was exactly, but I did not sense that it was God speaking those words through her, for the "but" cancelled out the agreement of the "yes."
I again looked her dead in the eye and asked, "Any chance harry potter will be introduced into this school?"
"No," she said.
Although I did not have complete peace that she was really speaking the truth, I agreed with her out loud--and started forbidding magic in any way to enter and/or continue in that school, in the Name of Jesus. Not while my daughter is there!
The next two years, I chose to homeschool her, then put her in a different Christian school--that I knew (because I had subbed there and also because my pastor sent his youngest son there from grade 1 through 12) would never consider allowing witchcraft into the library nor curriculum.
We must stand up for the Bible and realize that even Christian leaders can be deceived. It's one of the signs of the last of the Last Days. But may the LORD continue to help us revere Him and seek and live the Truth--and help others to do so!
