How To Fill Your Mouth Now Praying For A Change

by Ngozi Nwoke
1/28/2020 / Christian Living

Do you know how to enhance your prayers for greater results? Not knowing what and how to pray to get God’s attention is challenging, especially when you think you have prayed all you know to pray. However, the good news is that there is a solution to it, which is to pray in the Spirit. This post aims at telling you how to open your mouth wide praying for a change.

I am the Lord your God, Who brought you out of the land of Egypt; Open your mouth wide, and I will fill it – Psalm 81:10 (NKJV).

Likewise the Spirit also helps in our weaknesses. For we do not know what we should pray for as we ought, but the Spirit Himself makes intercession for us with groanings which cannot be uttered. Now He who searches the hearts knows what the mind of the Spirit is, because He makes intercession for the saints according to the will of God – Romans 8:26-27 (NKJV, emphasis mine).

The Challenge

Many Christians struggle with what to pray to receive answers to their problems. Also, sometimes they wonder if they have prayed well enough for God to answer them. Certainly, it is quite challenging especially when they need the answer urgently.

The Solution

Every challenge has a solution in God, and in this case, praying in the Spirit is the solution. This is allowing the Holy Spirit to pray through you, because He makes intercession for you according to the will of God (Romans 8:27). Also, He utters words which your mind can’t understand (1 Corinthians 14:14), as such making it difficult for any interferences. However, God who searches the hearts knows what the Spirit is saying. And because the Spirit prays according to the will of God, the Lord hears the prayers and definitely releases the answers to you (1 John 5:14-15).

Understanding Praying In The Spirit

1. It is also called praying in tongues (1 Corinthians 14:2-18)

2. Praying in the Spirit is one of the gifts of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 12:10)

3. The whole armour of God includes praying in tongues (Ephesians 6:18)

4. Speaking in tongues edifies the speaker (1 Corinthians 14:4)

5. You give thanks well when you pray in the Spirit (1 Corinthians 14:17)

6. It is exclusive to born again Christians and you get it through the baptism of the Holy Spirit (Acts 19:1-6)

7. Jesus Christ is the baptizer (Luke 3:16)

Open Your Mouth Wide And Pray In The Spirit

God says you should open your mouth wide and He will fill it (Psalm 81:10). And one of the ways by which He fills your mouth is through speaking in tongues. So, when you are praying in the Spirit, you will be praying exactly the will of God by the help of the Holy Spirit. As such, you will be hitting the nail on the head, praying the solution to the challenge confronting you and not praying amiss (James 4:3).

Hence, wisdom demands that you spend quality time praying in the Spirit so you can have the change you desire. So, pray with your understanding and also ensure to pray effectively with the Spirit, praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit.

What Next?

Therefore, if you desire to fortify your prayers, pray aright and get your answers, then you must always pray in the Spirit; remember it is a part of the armour of God that you are to wear always.

Furthermore, if you’re not baptized with the Holy Spirit with the evidence of speaking in tongues, then go to Jesus and ask Him to baptize you. However, note that you’re to do the speaking. So, when you pray asking Christ to baptize you with the Holy Spirit believe that He would do so, open your mouth and speak in tongues as the Spirit gives you utterance (Acts 2:4).

In addition, as I mentioned earlier, praying in the Spirit begins with you receiving Jesus as your personal Lord and Saviour; being born again. So, if you haven’t accepted Jesus, you can do it today.

Please say this prayer:

Lord Jesus

I come to you today.

I am a sinner, I cannot help myself

Wash me with your blood

I believe you died for me

And rose again on the third day for my justification

I accept you as my personal Lord and Saviour

Father, thank you for saving me.

I am born again, saved, delivered and healed

In Jesus Name.

Congratulations! Please if you said that prayer, join a believing church and continue your fellowship with God.
