LEGACY - Crafting Your Child's Future With Words - Part 11 - Ways to Worship

by Tonja Taylor
2/02/2020 / Family

The LORD led me to these verses on worship to speak over my daughter and myself, a couple of decades ago. I have continued to speak many of them through the years. As I have spoken them over my daughter, the living Word of God has gone into her heart--and also into mine, to shape us to be worshipers of the one true God, in Spirit and in Truth!

Put your child's name in place of "my child" or "you," in these Scriptures, to make them very personal. It's even more powerful when you teach your darling(s) to speak the Word of God over themselves!

Some of them may not even make sense to you as to why or how they could be used as Scriptures for worship. But that is why the amazing Holy Spirit--the Spirit of Jesus in us--is so very personal; He leads us in intimate ways, that are unique to each of us, His beloved children. He created us in our mother's wombs (Psalm 139:13) and knows us better than we know ourselves! So He knows exactly which of the Scriptures in His Word will witness to our hearts, and be just what we and our dear children need!

So here are a few of the Scriptures you can use for worship (and other facets of the Christian life):

My child, the LORD is your God; you exalt Him and praise His name, for in perfect faithfulness He has done marvelous things, things planned long ago. Isaiah 25:1

My child, God says, "I see the heart in your honor." Malachi 3:10

You cry to the LORD and He hears you, and delivers you from all your fears. Psalm 34:4

O taste and see that the LORD is good! Blessed are you who trusts in Him.  Psalm 34:8

You are a servant of the LORD, and you praise, O servant of the LORD, you praise the name of the LORD, now and forever more. Psalm 113:1-2

You have seen the LORD in the sanctuary and beheld His power and His glory. Because His love is better than life, your lips will praise Him. You will praise Him as long as you live, and in His name you will lift up your hands. Psalm 63:2-4

The people I shaped for Myself will broadcast My praises. Isaiah 43:21 NJB

We will be glad in your salvation and in the name of our God we will put up our flags; may the LORD give you all your requests.  Psalm 20:5

Give to the LORD, you sons of the gods, give to the LORD glory and strength. Psalm 29:1

Give to the LORD the full glory of His name; give Him worship in holy robes. Psalm 29:2

At the voice of the LORD...in His Temple you, child, say, "Glory." Psalm 29:9

The LORD will give strength to His people; the LORD will give His people the blessing of peace. Psalm 29:11

You offer to God the sacrifice of thanksgiving and pay your vows to the Most High, and you call on God in the day of trouble; He will deliver you and you shall honor and glorify God. Psalm 51:14,15 AMP

You sing to the LORD all your life; you sing praise to your God as long as you live. Your meditation is pleasing to Him, as you rejoice in the LORD. Psalm 104:33, 34

You give thanks to the LORD and call on His name. You make known among the nations what He has done. You sing to Him, sing praise to Hm, and tell of all His wonderful acts. You glory in His holy Name; your heart seeks the LORD and rejoices. You look to the LORD and His strength; you see His face always. Psalm 105:1-4

Psalm 34:1-4,8,9: You bless the LORD at all times; His praise shall continually be in your mouth. You soul makes its boast in the LORD; you the humble and afflicted hear and are glad. You magnify the LORD with me; let us exalt His name together. You cry to the LORD and He hears you, and delivers you from all your fears. ....O taste and see that the LORD our God is good! The Angel of the LORD encamps around you who fears God and delivers you.

Ask the LORD to reveal more Scriptures to you to speak over your children and yourself about worship. He is faithful, and delights to answer your requests that are in His will! (I John 5:14,15)
