The Abode of Christ and the Abiding of His Word â" John 15:7

by Russ Gressett
2/06/2020 / Prophecy

“7 If you abide in Me, and My words abide in you, you will ask what you desire, and it shall be done for you.” (NKJV)

"Money is not a leader in My kingdom. By My design, money is a follower … a useful tool no different than the knife in the hand of a butcher.

The spirit of Mammon seeks to lead largely through the avenue of money and to control through the anti-spiritual fruit (the opposites of love, joy, peace, forbearance, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control). The enemy’s process works by and through fear and worry and anxiety and selfishness and self-preference and the like. On the contrary, faith works by love and all that flows from love.

When Mammon is leading and seeking to lead, money or success will be consulted as a leader and as a decision maker instead of a tool which you have dominion over. Be on alert to this truth. It runs rampant throughout the earth. The remedy is simple. Instead of yielding to its leadership by saying, “I can’t because of money” or “I can because of money”, simply abide in Christ with the yes and the amen to My direction and ask, “What is the first step, Father?” That is an “asked for desire”. Then take the step when you have the answer. That is how dominion is exercised … step by step. The tool of money will be on its way. Help in whatever is needed will be on its way. Whatever is desired in the abode of Christ is just an asking away.

Rest is impossible in the midst of fear and worry.

Unrest is impossible in the midst of love and faith.

Like the child that crawls in bed with mom and dad after a bad dream … poof … no more fear or anxiety. Just sweet sleep and rest. That’s the abode of Christ. That’s the indwelling of the Word.

Abiding in Me, having your abode enveloped by My abode saturates you in My love ... the unconditional type of love that is not based on outcome or performance. In that place, you will ask what you desire and it will be done for you. Your desire in that place will be full with rest and absent of anti-spiritual fruit. Asking that is pure and refined comes forward in that place. Asking that is pressured and fear based and which does not take into consideration the impact of My help disappears. It cannot stand the heat of My fire.

Receiving what is asked for in the abode of Christ is natural and easy and secondhand and organic. Manifestation too is quick. It’s how Jesus knew the gold coin was in the fish’s mouth.

There are no "so that" heart motives in the abode of Christ that seek to replace Me as first in your life. Time spent in the secret place produces maturity in you that sees these truths, their application and their authority in the earth. Great unstoppable power flows from the abode of Christ.

Asking without doubting flows from the abode of Christ. The Word abiding in you is the language spoken in Christ's abode. That language is where faith originates. That language is the vehicle that transports faith to your hearing in the abode of Christ. That language is the response language to anti-spiritual fruit that seeks to take over and control.

The combination of abiding in Christ and the Word abiding in you manifests your “asked for desires” in the earth. It flows simply like this: You abiding in Christ … His Words abiding in you … your pure and refined desires come forward in His abode … your hearing of His language concerning those desires is received … faith originates in you from that language of truth … receiving from Him in rest without fear, worry and anxiety … manifestation of the desire in the earth.

Fear and worry and anxiety do not walk with love and faith. The abode of Christ transacts with the new man that is born of the Spirit. Fear and worry  are not present there. Anxiousness is not present there.  Where ever fear and worry and anxiety are found in applied operation, that place is outside the abode of Christ. Outside of His abode is the only place they can be actioned and yielded to. Thoughts and reasonings that originate from the enemy and/or your un-regenerated flesh approach your mind to sway it to leave the abode of Christ and be enticed by what they have to say. It’s not the loss of salvation but the loss of aligned leadership within.

"IF" is a big word. It represents your own free will choice. I do not remove that. If I were ever going to remove it, I would have slapped Adam down on the way to that tree.  If I didn’t do it then, I most certainly am not going to do it now. But I provide grace to empower the choices that you make that are in line with My will.  When the battle is hard to continue abiding in Him and to fuel the abiding of His word in you … My grace comes to your choices made and empowers them and brings to memory the “it is written” wherein you will stand … having done all to stand.

“IF” you abide in Christ, the shield of faith from what has been heard in Christ's abode and from the Word abiding in you will rise up and stop the swaying thoughts and reasonings. What has been heard will take captive those imaginations and assaults born outside the abode of Christ. What has been heard will cast them down by speaking just as Jesus did in the wilderness. Actual speaking exercises and releases the authority.

These truths are the understanding that Paul took on in Galatians 2:20 where he had been describing his leaving of the law to those who had been re-captured by it. It was no longer he that lived, but Christ in him. He had been crucified with Christ and the life that he then lived was by faith in the son of God. He found his home in the abode of Christ. He truly saw the love of Christ and how He had given his life for him. He found the key of a continual abiding in the abode of Christ. From that home, he measured everything against eternity and not the temporal and the “seen”. He introduced everything to My grace. From that home, he viewed everything in the light of My unstoppable power. It’s like this, “Anxiety, worry and fear, let me introduce you to the grace and power of my Father!”

When you hear worry or fear or anxiousness calling, and they will call, let it be a 6th sense to you that they are trying to get you outside the boundaries of Christ’s abode.  They do this so that  what is designed to follow can instead be the leader. They wish you to be led and bothered by that which is un-regenerated. Staying deep within that abode captures and casts down those thoughts, reasonings and assaults. It simply maintains alignment to spirit-soul-body instead of body-soul-spirit. It keeps the prince on the horse and forces the servant to walk behind. The prince is your spirit, the horse is your life and the servant is your flesh.

“IF you abide in Me and My Word abides in you” ... this is the key and the call to the secret place of communion with Me daily. It is a home you know. A home you know the location of. A place where you belong. A place that is ours. A place where a table is set and on it is the food that Jesus ate which “they knew not of”.  A place of abundance already prepared for feasting. A place called the Spirit of Life in Christ Jesus. Life!

The path that leads to life is narrow, but upon arrival, there is nothing narrow or constricting about that place of life in Christ’s abode. Matthew 7 speaks of the broad path and the narrow path. Many times when you look at the narrow path you see the path as long, narrow and unending. But My counsel does not end there.  The narrow path leads somewhere. It leads to this place of life! It leads to the abode of Christ, and there is nothing narrow about that place.  It’s the most expansive place of freedom and rest you will ever know. The broad path leads to constriction and bondage and destruction.  Not so with the narrow path.

Come up higher son and you will see. You can always come up higher.  Even John, who was already in the Spirit on the Lord’s day in Revelation 1 was called up even higher in Revelation 4. Come up higher son. The abode of Christ is your home. I have already declared that you are seated there. Amen.”
