Concentration

Concentration used to be one of my favorite TV game programs. Hosted first by Hugh Downs; it   went on the air in 1958. Producers later updated the game with other hosts (including Alex Trebek). Winning contestants found themselves in the national spotlight.

Their secret to success?

With acute concentration, they could focus on where they’d previously viewed the needed cards. It’s easy to lose our focus; the ability to concentrate on priorities. Employers, family, friends and personal interests vie for our attention.

What we ‘choose’ to concentrate on will become a driving force.

Do you have a goal to reach?

“My goal is to know Him and the power of His resurrection and the fellowship of His sufferings, being conformed to His death, assuming that I will somehow reach the resurrection from among the dead.

Not that I have already reached the goal or am already fully mature, but I make every effort to take hold of it because I also have been taken hold of by Christ Jesus.Brothers, I do not consider myself to have taken hold of it. But one thing I do: Forgetting what is behind and reaching forward to what is ahead, I pursue as my goal the prize promised by God’s heavenly call in Christ Jesus (Philippians 3:10-14 HCSB).”

Apostle Paul remained focused; he concentrated on the goal ahead.
