Global Covid-19 Lockdown: You just don't get it, do you?

by Jack Vorster

I’ve seen a few movies where one person says to another, “You just don’t get it, do you?” The person saying it is under serious threat from the other who is holding and pointing a gun, but the speaker represents a stronger corporate power and is actually warning the person that he is in great danger should he persist with his threatening stance. In other words, the person is being told that he does not know what he is getting into.

Most nations, after a period of total lockdown due to the Coronavirus, have now elected to return to a significant level of normalcy by opening certain categories of businesses, educational institutions and tourism. Businesses such as hair salons, tattoo parlours, nail boutiques were the first to open their doors and on the medical side, abortion clinics received the green light. Some major corporations, manufacturers and mining entities are now also returning to work.

However, the one body of activity that matters most, is not allowed to assemble their members for church services because of the ‘social distancing’ rule. And the news media appears to be enjoying the ruling against churches when one listens to their aggressive line of questioning put to church leaders for daring to challenge the ruling. To them and all the ‘separation of Church and State’ governments of the world I want to say, “You just don’t get it, do you?”

What is it that they don’t get? It is this: “The earth is the LORD'S, and the fullness thereof; the world, and they that dwell therein.” (Ps 24:1)

You just don’t get the fact that the Supreme Creator and Ruler of the Universe, God, “in whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind” (Job 12:10)

You just don’t get that this is the God that, “If he set his heart upon man, if he gather unto himself his spirit and his breath; All flesh shall perish together, and man shall turn again unto dust.” (Job 34:14,15)

How dare the governments of this world remove God from the livelihood of the people that put them in power by severing Church and State when their (the governments) very own existence came about as a result of a creative act of God?  “The burden of the word of the LORD for Israel, says the LORD, who stretches forth the heavens, and lays the foundation of the earth, and forms the spirit of man within him.” (Zec 12:1)

Jesus is the head of the Church, his Body, and those who believe in Him and gather in churches are members of that Body. “For by him were all things created, that are in heaven, and that are in earth, visible and invisible, whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by him, and for him:

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist.

And he is the head of the body, the church: who is the beginning, the firstborn from the dead; that in all things he might have the preeminence.”   (Col 1:16-18)

God has this to say to every politician breathing air on this planet. “Before I formed you in the belly I knew you;” (Jer. 1:5)

But you just don’t get it, do you? “Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord;” (Ps 33:12)

You simply don’t get the fact that the Church has access to the throne room of God and by their supplication while gathering together can obtain healing for the nation. “Bless the LORD, O my soul, and forget not all his benefits: Who forgiveth all thine iniquities; who healeth all thy diseases;” (Ps 103:2,3)

Instead of shutting down the world indefinitely in fear of a disease that God can easily erase, the world should have gone on lockdown for one week only to allow the Church not to be on lockdown in order to do their thing. “But I will forewarn you whom ye shall fear: Fear him, which after he hath killed hath power to cast into hell; yea, I say unto you, Fear him.” (Luke 12:5)

But you just don’t get it, do you?

There’s none as blind as those who do not see.
