HE WHO!

David, you knew of battles

The counsel of great kings

You penned many times

How the enemy schemes

As you saw the dark hearts of the night

Did you feel relieved to write.....

 

HE WHO

"Sits in the heavens laughs and scorns"

How does one put down such words from the Lord?

So much conflict even today

Our Lord never changes

He's in control, though evil wants his way

This knowledge was given to you to say.....

 

HE WHO

"Sits on heavens throne

And avenges bloodshed"

David, words you have written, I have read

You sang praises to our Lord

I too sing, remembering what Christ does now and before

As murder, hate and lies have taken the world

In comfort I know as you, who is Lord

He doesn't forget the cry of the afflicted

David we're created by Him

Walking a different time and path

Both called and seeking more of His Truth

Yet knowing Him to be.....

 

HE WHO

"Did bring us forth from the womb"

Upon our Lord we were cast from birth

Like millions of others He has called to cover the earth

I'm overwhelmed to think this now

We all part of God's plan, you and I

Learning with every step the reason why

Years ago the Lord looked down on you David

From heaven He saw you just as He sees me today

Knowing this I can look up and say.....

 

HE WHO

"Fashions our hearts and understands all our ways"

The only One who can shape an inward Truth

When men come against our faith in Him

He understands the work we do

 

David I have never had to hide in caves

Or have a king or son try to take my life

Yet my world is growing dark with rage

Satan is ambushing hearts with sweet sounding lies

But our Lord is well known as.....

 

HE WHO

"Delivers from those who try to ensnare our minds"

Our Lord binds us under His wings

When in battle He has heard our cries

 

Have we not heard

For centuries the voice of those who say

The Lord doesn't see, He doesn't hear

Yet we know.....

 

HE WHO

"Planted our ears and formed our eyes"

Can He not hear or see what we try to hide?

He chastens in order to purify

He also will rebuke

Teaching knowledge, knowing our thoughts

Just a mere breath

Expelled and gone

 

David you have left this world

What have you heard?

What have you seen?

What do you know?

I'm excited that one day I also will be shown

You once shared three powerful words

No human can claim.....

 

HE WHO

"Made"

Only a creator could state

Which includes the sea and land

A spot in a garden where in glory He did stand

Having made us David

Forever in the line of humanity

In His pasture free to roam

If we step outside devouring wolves we'll see

Fenced and gated our Protector is He

 

David I have read many times how you

Blessed the Lord's Holy Name

I ask Him to help me do the same

May I never forget His kindness

Is your memory pure now in holy rest?

Looking in the eyes of the One

Who can perfectly bless

I still walk under fallen weight

Reading words He gave so long ago

Words that helped you through love and hate

Now my heart reads.....

 

HE WHO

"Pardons and Heals"

Iniquities and the disease of sin

The world you knew and now I'm in

"Redeems"

Us from the dark abyss

Frees from shadows that breed fear

Rescuing from the fiery pits long list

 

What undeserved joy

When we both try to comprehend that.....

 

HE WHO

"Crowns"

David how blessed that you fully know this now

Does His love and compassion commpletely

Consume your soul?

How you did hunger for it here below

I also long to know the fulness of.....

 

HE WHO

"Satisfies"

When we choose His path

Year after year how the blessings last

The Lord compares this to an eagle

Who tends and feeds

And allows it's young to soar on heavens' breeze

 

Oh! Israel, how often the Lord has safely kept

David I've read of your love for your country men

How you and many others begged for her to obey

Even today my being adopted into your family

Has placed in my heart a desire for Israel

To see the Lord's way, and that.....

 

HE WHO

"Keeps Israel"

Will not sumber, she is coming home

We know David, our Holy Father

Never falls asleep and wakes up startled at what Israel fears

One day in every heart of your long family line

In shock, they will acknowledge that two thousand years ago

The Lord Jesus did come near

The True Light did shine

 

David you now know fully the glory of

HE WHO

Is the Most High

I listen for

HE WHO

Whispers in my heart

Knowing like you one day I also will rise
