RECOGNIZING SATAN'S ATTACKS

YOU DO HAVE AN ENEMY. WE ALL DO and it helps prodigiously to learn his tricks. SOME OF THESE INCLUDE:

1). NEGATIVE THOUGHTS

----A FAVORITE TOOL OF OUR ENEMY; probably one of his most simple ones to pull off.

----Our best defense is the positivity of the Word of God; meditating on His Truth and His Promises, which will override the negative thoughts:

“For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says the Lord, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you a future and a hope.” (Jeremiah 29:11)

“The Lord is my shepherd;
I shall not want.
He makes me to lie down in green pastures;
He leads me beside the still waters.
He restores my soul;
He leads me in the paths of righteousness
For His name’s sake.

Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
For You are with me;
Your rod and Your staff, they comfort me.” (Psalm 23:1-4)

2). SWEARING, NOT USING YOUR MOUTH FOR WHAT GOD INTENDED, BUT FOR WHAT SATAN INTENDED!

---Cursing is probably another favorite tool in the devil’s handbook. If we use our words in holiness; refusing to use any fowl or indecent language, God will provide a special cover over our lives, but if we decide we would rather use fowl and indecent language and cursing; thinking it’s cool or that this language provides an enormous sense of relief, we will find that we have much more trouble staying calm and stable when our circumstances become difficult or we are faced with new obstacles and challenges. Cursing has a strange quality; it keeps us upset, but we accept it like it’s an actual coping-mechanism. People think it's like this great release; like it’s a great coping mechanism, but that's one of Satan's lies! All that swearing does keep us in turmoil emotionally and spiritually and even physically if we become upset enough. It's not possible to remain stable in Christ, if we are using this coping disaster.

Cursing only leads to further complicate and convolute our nightmares and other negative experiences. It provides a release that feels good in the moment, but is really more like a poison; something to actually fear.

(****Using our mouths for God's Glory will bring blessings, using our mouths as Satan's dumping ground will only lead to cursing over our lives. Curse with your mouth; be cursed in your life....)

3). HIS FIERY DARTS: HE ATTACKS IN OUR WEAKNESS & KNOWS HOW

----But we don't have to be concerned; he has no real power over us who have the Holy Spirit, all we need to do is remain unphased and continue seeking God and His Truth; fighting Satan's darts with a head full of Scripture as best weapon against his attacks.

----We have the armor of God on our side:

“Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we do not wrestle against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this age, against spiritual hosts of wickedness in the heavenly places. Therefore take up the whole armor of God, that you may be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. Stand therefore, having girded your waist with truth, having put on the breastplate of righteousness, and having shod your feet with the preparation of the gospel of peace; above all, taking the shield of faith with which you will be able to quench all the fiery darts of the wicked one. And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God;” (Ephesians 6:11-17)

4). THROUGH OTHER PEOPLE

----Satan does use people around us. For someone unaware, even believers, it does happen. He will prompt us to say certain things that sound fine, but have a wicked purpose. It happens all the time. The only way to fight this is to grow in Truth and knowledge. The smarter you are in Christ, the more difficult it is for the devil to work through you.

5). THROUGH OUR SITUATION. HE TWISTS THINGS TO MAKE IT SEEM LIKE GOD ISN'T THERE FOR US

----When bad things happen to us, we tend to think God has abandoned us, but that is NOT the case. God allows certain things to happen because He knows we may just learn something of great value. He turns our bad into good and will not allow more to come on us than we can bear.

“No temptation has overtaken you except such as is common to man; but God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able, but with the temptation will also make the way of escape, that you may be able to bear it.” (1Corinthians 10:13)

“ Let your conduct be without covetousness; be content with such things as you have. For He Himself has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Hebrews 13:5)

6). NOT AGREEING WITH THE WORD; LETTING DISCOURAGING WORDS AND THOUGHTS LEAD US AWAY FROM HIM AND HIS TRUTH

----Know the Word of God and stand on it! Satan has a much harder time deceiving those who know the Word of God and my eventually leave you alone entirely…..

7). HE WILL USE YOUR SPECIFIC FEARS AGAINST YOU, BUT WITH GOD, WE HAVE NO REASON TO FEAR. ABIDE IN HIS TRUTH AND THE FEAR WILL DEPART:

“Fear not, for I am with you;
Be not dismayed, for I am your God.
I will strengthen you,” (Isaiah 41:10)

8). LYING. SATAN'S BIGGEST TOOL IS LYING. HE TWISTS GOD'S WORD

----KNOW THE WORD.....
