Strength and Peace

by Tonja Taylor
10/12/2020 / Christian Living

"I will give you strength and bless you with peace," says Psalm 29:11, in the personalized version of the Scripture, according to one internationally-known and respected minister.

The LORD our God is our Strength and our Peace.  As I've thought about this (which is what "meditation" is) Scripture--so easy to read and say, which I definitely needed this past week--I'm just so thankful that the Word of God is a living Book! It is unchanging, yet the LORD gives us continual revelation of deeper meanings of His Word.

He is sooooooooooooooo good!

For instance, He's revealed to me that He gives us strength in our bodies, and also in our minds, in our finances, in our marriages, in our families, in our other God-ordained relationships; in our jobs; in our gifts and talents; in our efforts; and in our destinies; even in our possessions and storage places (bank accounts, creative ideas; material possessions and treasures, etc.)!

How great is our God!

The peace He gives us also compirses many things. The Hebrew word is "Shalom," which means, "nothing broken, nothing missing; complete." Amen! So the peace He, Jesus, our Prince of Peace, gives us is not only calm, but the faith of knowing He is for us and always working on our behalf. It is, as one esteemed pastor said, "a force. Peace is a force." The LORD gives us peace that passes understanding (when we focus on Him and His Word, and He will help us do that), and when we are in peace--the shadow--the Covering--of the Most High (Psalm 91), then we are stable and can understand and perform His will much better.

The enemy comes to rob our peace, but the LORD will help us keep our minds set on Him, and, even when things seem hard, like they did for me this past week, His peace will surround us as a shield. He will remind us that He heps us stay in peace while He fights for us!

Amen and Amen! We bless the Prince of Peace, the LORD Jesus Christ, forever!
