Doing Gods Will fulfills us

by Sue Darling
10/12/2020 / Christian Living

My father lived a good life. He was a carpenter and he helped the family and friends out when they needed help using his skills as a carpenter. When he was dying he said over and over again I wasted it, I wasted it. Meaning he wasted his life on earth. He had an encounter of the Crucified Christ and I believe he felt he could of done a lot more to please God in his lifetime. I am bringing this up because even though he was a generous man in many ways, he still saw that he could have done a lot more for God. I want us all to live fully for God and be happy with our lives, that when we die we know we have made the best use of our opportunities to serve God. God was very gracious to my father, He heard his prayer and I believe He extended his life a few more months longer, to make up for lost time.

Both my mother and myself was told by God, that what my father went through in those few months, is what saints usually take a life time to reach. So I am proud of my father the way he became so holy in such a short time. After great tribulation we also can become holy, compassionate, merciful, forgiving and affectionate to one another, just like how God wants us to be. I know realistically we wouldn’t be entirely happy. The more we grow in love with God, the more we want, which is excellent. That is a sure way to grow more pleasing to God.

I want to be great in heaven, and I want us all to be great. We are working for a whole eternity. The closer we are to God here on earth, the more intimate we will be with God in heaven for a whole eternity. We can all do it if we truly want it. Like my fathers’ cry to God was answered at his death bed. Lets’ not wait until then. Lets’ start crying out to God now. God does have favourites. The more we resemble Jesus on earth the more we are loved by God. Many people will disagree with that. We all can get there, we all can be Gods’ favourite. There is plenty of love to go around. We are so unique and so is our calling, if we choose to follow Jesus to become great in heaven. Don’t be lazy and really reach out to God begging Him, to make you great in heaven. If you do, expect trials that will purify you, and if you hang onto Gods’ reassuring promises you will prosper. Anything that is worth something is hard work, but you won’t be saying on your death bed I wasted it, I wasted it. But enter into His glory.

You know in heaven there are all different levels of spiritual wealth. The more pleasing you are to God on earth the more spiritual wealthy you become in heaven. One thing I am glad to hear in heaven there is no jealousy among the inhabitants of heaven as they are here on earth.

One guy went to heaven and he told his brother who was his guide, that he wanted to see the cities in heaven, and his brother told him they aren’t cities, but mansions. I want a mansion in heaven. Many people in heaven, haven’t got a mansion or a home, because basically they didn’t use the many opportunities God gave them to grow in His Spirit, and do the works that Jesus did.

God is inviting us all, even the worst sinner of all time, are invited to come nearer to God and be Gods’ favourite child. Jesus has paid the full price for all our sins on the cross, and is willing to give us graces that will cleanse our hearts from the desires of this world, to a holy desire in pleasing only God. The closer we come to Him the more we desire Him. He is so beautiful. Our eyes are open more as we get closer. Often we have encounters of Jesus while we are still on earth that strengthens our desires for Him more. There is a price to pay and that is learn to surrender to Gods’ every wish. Of course we fall many times, but we get right back up again and repent and all is forgotten by God our Father. Thanks to Jesus paying the full price for our salvation.

I am ever so grateful for all the saints that have inspired me to follow Jesus more closely than I would of otherwise have done. I would have missed out on so much.

Prayer is so powerful and we need to pray for everybody not just our family.
