How Is Your Inward Part?

by Olawale Ogunsola
11/27/2020 / Christian Apologetics

There are many ways to classify a man or a woman. One of such classification is to see the outward and the Inward. There is a wide gap between the two although the two parts are fused together and influence one another. In most cases, what affects one part has effects on the other. The two cannot be separated except at the point of departing this sinful world to go home.

One important thing is that mankind generally takes regular care of the outward part but neglects the inward part, which is equally, if not more important, than the outward part. That is why everyone is trying to beautiful the outward at all costs. There is no extent they cannot go to make the outward attractive. They spend time and other resources to ensure this is attractive.

Realising this, manufacturers of beauty products are never tired of rolling out new products to maintain a beautiful body. Trust, the advertisers, they do not leave any stone unturned to encourage people to buy beauty products. After all, there lies their own source of affluence. There is no time that mankind is wearied of making the outward part beautiful. Age is not a barrier either, the old and young are involved in maintaining a beautiful physical structure, the outward part.

Do you know the truth about the outward part? It is deceitful! A verse from Life Instructional Mannual, the Holy Bible has this to say,
"Charm is deceitful and beauty is passing,
But a woman who fears the Lord, She shall be praised." Proverbs 31:30

As close as the inward and the outside parts of a man is, they can be opposites of each other. An attractive outward part can be an opposite of the inward part. Not only this, beauty can pass away irrespective of whatever is spent on it. The beauty of a hundred and twenty old woman can not be the same as when she is twenty years. That is beauty of the physical body for you, it wanes. It vanishes.

Watch!

One thing I want to call your attention to is that charm of the physical body can deceive a man of the spirit if care is not taken and this calls for divine intervention. Any proof of this from the Holy Bible?

Yes!

When the Lord sent Prophet Samuel to anoint one of Jesse's sons as a king to replace King Saul, the man of God was happy to see Eliab, the first son, because his outward part was good enough to be in the palace. However, the Lord warned his servant,
"Do not look at his appearance or at his physical stature because
I have refused him. For the Lord does not see as man sees; for man looks at the outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart." I Samuel 16:7.

The heart is the inward part which is the workshop of all human activities. It has a direct influence on every aspect of man. For instance, it is possible to be outwardly religious before yourself and other people while your worship is in vain before the Lord. Jesus Christ accused the religious teachers of His days thus,
"Now you Pharisees make the outside of the cup and dish clean, but your inward part is full of greed and wickedness.
Foolish ones! Did not He who made the outside make the inside also? Luke 11:39-40

This means that your God who made your outward part also made your inward appearance. He is more interested in your inward part than the outward. The former has a great influence on the physical either for good or evil. The Lord wants you to care more for your inward part to live a fruitful and successful life for His glory. That is why He wants you to eliminate greed, wickedness and all other works of the flesh (Galatians 5:19-21; Colossians 3:5) that are resident in your heart now.

This will provide you the grace to look nice inwardly and outwardly because you will begin to manifest the fruits of the spirits (Galatians 5:22-23, Ephesians 4:32, 5:9-10). This is possible if you yield yourself to the calling of Jesus Christ saying
"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavy laden,
and I will give you rest." Matthew 11:28.

Do you want your inward part clean? Allow Jesus Christ to take over the governance of your heart for control purposes. He will give you His Comforter, the Holy Spirit to represent Him in governance of your heart and entire life. Those who have taken this step before you have never regretted so you cannot regret. Things will surely turn around for the best in your life. You will then be charming and beautiful inwardly and outwardly forever. Not only in this world but in eternal life. Let your inner contents be changed today and forever, tomorrow may be late.
Stay blessed and prepared for the imminent coming of the Lord Jesus.
